I like to kinda dress up every Thanksgiving. Meaning, I wear something sort of dressy with something more casual and comfortable, so it all balances out. Ya know, for when the turkey coma has hit, shoes have been kicked off and I crash on the couch, tired and full…with kids climbing all over me.
As soon as I saw this chunky cardigan I was ALL ABOUT IT, with its heather grey color and well…chunkiness.
It’s very hard for me to say no to a good chunky sweater, by the way.
I’ve been feelin’ the all-black look recently because it can be so effortless. Sooo I added the cardi right into the all-black mix I have planned for the big day. The tank drapes just enough, the jeans are stretchy (very important) and the sweater adds the perfect contrast. Looks like I am going to slay Turkey Day.
Now, if I could just figure out a way to fit in a loooong, uninterrupted nap…
cardigan: Longline Knit Cardigan – I don’t love when things only come in “one size fits all” (really…what does that even mean?), but this one is a good one, especially with how affordable it is.I had to share it. It’s cozy and just long enough to layer over any outfit. I love the light grey, because it lightens up the darker, winter colors…but I also got it in the darker grey.
I found some other chunky cardigans, btw…
top: Trouve tank, old – this Free People Velvet Tank is gorgeous, with the bit of lace detail. (it also comes in sand and a winter green color). I like having a top like this on hand, especially during the holidays! It instantly dresses up a pair of jeans.
jeans: Articles of Society, from last year – their Sarah Skinny Jean is very similar. (TTS, by the way).
shoes: Sam Edelman Kinzy (TTS, 2 day shipping with Prime) – such a cute, low heeled bootie. I really enjoy wearing these with jeans…thinking they will also look good with a graphic tee. BTW: they also have a jacquard and white pair. Both are lovely. I am not a white boot person, but their white pair was tempting.
clutch: Rebecca Minkoff Leo Velvet Clutch (currently on sale!) – perfect for the season…holds my phone, small wallet and lip color.
I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week. No, really. I am at a loss. What happened to summer again??
