Hey guys!  It’s been awhile . . . and I’m happy to report that I’m back!  We had baby Ozzie on August 30th, and I’ve been in a postpartum haze of nursing, diapers and sleep deprivation since then!  Most of you know how hard it is to just get dressed and leave the house after having a baby, which is why I’m so happy JCPenney reached out to have us look at fall trends.  It forced me to A, look at fall trends, and B, get dressed AND leave the house to share some looks with you guys.  I even wore makeup.  Woot!

Postpartum dressing is not easy, but I’m loving dresses right now (bonus if they’re nursing friendly like the maxi dress below).  JCPenney has a bunch of dresses that are perfect for fall . . . and at a seriously great price.  They always have amazing sales and shopping there is an easy way to incorporate some fall trends into your wardrobe for less.  Here’s how I’m wearing these dresses now and into the cooler fall weather:

A Pretty Little Shift Dress

This dress has an inner lining and overlay that helps to disguise extra weight around the tummy.  I’m 5’4″ and wearing a petite so the length isn’t too long.  I loved the dress with the boots and cardigan (it’s cold here already) but would easily wear it in warmer weather with just sandals and maybe a denim jacket.

Wearing:

Lace Dress: (wearing petite small) Wear now with sandals and a denim jacket and later with boots and a cardigan.  This dress is also perfect for the holidays . . .

Boots: You had me at “memory foam.”  These boots are super comfortable (also in black or navy) and are currently on sale for under $45.

Hat: Also in black, I’m loving this hat for the fall.  Especially for bad hair days . . . which this mom has plenty of with no extra time to style!

Cardigan: (wearing xs) I love cardigans over dresses (and jeans and leggings, etc) and this one is a great length.  It comes in a number of different colors and is on sale for $17 . . . yes!!!!

Bag: Perfect for the western trend this fall, this bag is big enough to carry essentials but small enough not to be an extra pain.

A Statement Maxi That’s Nursing-Friendly, Too

I love a maxi dress with over-the-knee boots . . . this one doesn’t have a slit, but this dress does and would show off the boots even more.  I loved that this dress was nursing-friendly and had an adjustable tie around the waist.

Wearing:

Maxi Dress – (Wearing size 6) The pattern and drape help to hide extra tummy bulges!

Bracelet: I love chunky statement pieces and this bracelet is perfect.  (On sale for under $10).

  1. Congrats and welcome back. You are a new mama so wear that belly with pride – you sheltered an entire human in there! Looking good and thanks for the budget picks. Everything you show is so pretty, including/especially you and those children.

  2. Congrats on your sweet baby!

I love the over the knee boots but am a little timid about wearing them. I’d love tips on what to wear them with and how to find a flattering pair! I buy a couple of pairs every season and end up chickening out.

Enjoy those precious (and exhausting) infant moments!

  3. First, congrats! Second, you look amazing. Third, KUDOS for including a pic of you nursing. Well done, mama! We all know It isn’t easy, but if anyone ever made it look easy, it’s you!

  4. Glad to have you back! You look amazing, as usual. And I am in awe of a photo shoot with toddler and newborn, less than 30 days post delivery. Freaking amazing!!! I appreciate the work that went in to that!

  5. Scotti this is a great presentation to us all
