Happy Friday, Everyone! We splurged and bought ski season passes for this winter, so I’ve spent this week trying to put together ski stuff for the fam. My little guy is set…he has all of Pax’s AMAZING hand-me-downs. I borrowed Shana’s clothes the one time we skied last year, but figured it was probably time for me to at least purchase my own base layers. Lucky for me, Sweaty Betty’s SUPER-cute ones are on sale if you buy the top and bottom together (shown below), and they have a ton of pattern/color options. Also perfect under jeans and a sweater on those cold playground days.
My 12-year-old is going to inherit my old snow pants (I kind of feel no one growing as fast as he is needs brand new ski clothes,) and I ordered Shana’s ski pants because they just went to 30% off. My husband refuses to buy anything new and is putting together a random assortment of waterproof pieces he found in the bottom of his closet…we’ll see if I’m talking men’s ski clothes on sale next week. It was a fairly uneventful week here in Grand Rapids and these days, I am very much ok with uneventful. This week’s highlights include a Friday night Zoom call with my best friends from High School, binge-watching the first season of the tv show Fargo on Hulu with Jonathan, and discovering a new, hole-in-the-wall restaurant with the BEST sushi everrrrrrr.
As for sales, this week I’ve got winter weather on my mind and found some amazing deals on Sorel boots like 50% off Joan of Arctic Waterproof Shearling Hidden Wedge Booties at Bloomingdale’s. Also, a few of my favorite AllSaints pieces are on major sale at Nordstrom, including 50% off the Tara Cashmere and Wool sweater and 30% off Allsaints’ Lira Combat Boots that I’ve been oogling since the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. You guys. I am absolutely blown away by the outpouring of love and support I’ve received from you all over the last few days. There are literally no words that can adequately convey my gratitude. I think it says a lot that I feel so lucky (despite the brain tumor 😂) to have this community to lean on right now. So often we’re just writing away on our own, tucked into a corner of a room or closet (ha–kids, am I right??), wondering if anyone’s listening…and then you guys came out in droves to send messages of prayers, thoughts, love and support. Hey hey, Friday. We got some sunshine this week in Portland, I got the palest pink tulips from my flower delivery (Coy & Co you are the BEST) and both of those things give me hope. How y’all doin’? Heh. Whew. Also, if you need a book to read, I got back into The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates and it’s stunning. Finished Such A Fun Age last week, too, and wow. I couldn’t put it down!
Sales are sweet right now. My top picks are anything from Madewell’s Secret Stock Sale and these rad Vince Camuto boots at The Rack. DAMN. I finally forayed into creating Reels this week on my Instagram, too. Hello, lady. It was about time! And they’re so fun. If you wanna drop a comment over there with what kind of reels you like watching, this gal would appreciate it. I’m trying, I’m trying! Happy Weekend, y’all. xo

Hey gang! If you haven’t yet heard by now…my fav snow/ski pants are on sale. They are truly a lifetime love — so much so that I did an entire article on them. And if you haven’t yet tried Black-owned business Yubi, the makeup brush is on sale for under $30. I love mine for real, big-girl foundation, as well as my wussy (says Scotti) tinted moisturizer. 🙂

Hey pals. We’re into Day 3 of the Clean Program over here, so I’m chasing my hot lemon water with a blueberry macadamia smoothie and salivating over all the Super Bowl recipes that I’m rounding up for ya’ll (coming soon!). It’s like it’s own little brand of torture. But if that’s the worst news I have to report this week? I’ll for sure take it.
I’ve had like seven browser tabs open for the past week trying to settle on my final pick(s) from Nadaam’s crazy 50-60% off cashmere sale. (So far this turtleneck is the top contender, followed closely by a classic V.) And if you haven’t scooped up my fave boyfriend jeans yet, Off 5th has ’em dropped down to $99 (usually $255) in a couple of washes (have these, eyeing these). I wear mine true to size for an authentic boyfriend fit (some slouch in the seat and thighs), but size down if you like the idea of a closer fit. Happy weekend!

Is it just me or did this week fly by?! I am back working from home again, and if I am being totally honest I am looking forward to summer. I need a break and have been dreaming of vacay nonstop lately. In other news, I finally started using my Alo Moves membership and it’s amazing (still 50% off at Nordstrom)! I love the quality of the workouts, and there’s a ton of variety and different options for at-home workouts that feel like you are in a studio class! ps. Last week felt like it lasted two years, whereas I blinked and this one was already coming to an end! I made it a goal to ground myself this week with the beautiful things that matter most to me. I spent more time snuggling my baby (if that’s even possible), developing some personal goals for this new year, and stopping to chat (6ft apart, of course) with strangers in the park during our winter walks. I forgot how lovely it is to exchange words with another human and wish them well once you part ways. Those very little, seemingly insignificant things that I so took for granted before COVID-19 found us.
The sales this weekend are also quite lovely. It feels like they were catered just for me — I want to add just about everything from Mango and Good American to my shopping cart!! I’ve already fallen in love with the new Sweat + Essentials line from Good American, so I might just order a few more pieces while they are having a 25% off site wide sale – like these sweat shorts and this drool-worthy oversized shacket. Uhm, yes please.
