It’s July, it’s SUMMER, and there are sales to be shopped.

When it comes to summer staples, some people look for shorts, some for great sandals, others the perfect straw tote or purse…but me?

I’m always on the hunt for the perfect summer sweater.

Summer Sweaters, Sandals, Dresses & Denim: 4th Of July Weekend Sales

There’s no better feeling than coming home from a hot, long day at the beach, hopping in the shower, and hanging out back on a cool night with the perfect lightweight sweater…you know the feeling. And THIS little linen beach sweater from J.Crew is exactly what I’m talking about. Scotti has (and loves) hers in black, but it comes in pretty papaya, flax & white, too.

Otherwise, we have some great holiday sales, ready for you below…Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday! I can’t believe July is already here and that it’s a holiday weekend. The sales are just too good today, and I have already made so many purchases! I’m most excited about the Good American sale, which has a ton of items for an extra 50% off! I don’t think I’ve ever found a pair of GA jeans for under $50 until now. I bought these super-cute cropped chewed hem jeans, a pair of classic Good Waist jeans (which are also fully stocked in all sizes), and this cute AF satin PJ set! Finding plus-size PJs is always a challenge for me so I knew I needed to jump on those since the price was so good. I also snagged these high gloss black paper bag cargo pants which I’m hoping will look cute!

LOFT is offering an extra 60% off three sale item pieces or 70% off four sale item pieces with the code HBDUSA, and J. Crew is offering an extra 70% off of all sale with the code GOFOURTH! There are also tons of sales on the outdoor furniture front, and I personally have my eye on this gorg sofa from Pottery Barn. I hope you are all well, and that you have a fun and safe holiday weekend! XX – Kat

Scotti’s Sale Picks

Happy 4th of July!! This has traditionally always been a favorite holiday of mine, but this year will obviously be a bit different. There’s usually a huge parade, a big food and music festival down by the Lower Harbor and fireworks over the water to top it all off…all canceled this year. I’m glad they’re canceled (a necessary step during this pandemic), but it’s still a bummer. So we’ll be trying to make the best of it, but I wish I would have been a bit more proactive and gotten supplies prior to this week…I mean, how cool would these sparklers have been??

As it is, we’ll be waving some flags, eating Mom’s blueberry crisp, enjoying a campfire (S’mores, of course), and spending as much time in the lake as possible with the hot temps (which we’ve waited all year for). G is still CRAZY excited (as she is with all things holiday,) so I’m going to print out these free 4th of July printables for her and we might even do these American Flag crafts if we get really crazy! Oh and I’ll make sure we have red white and blue for her to wear (I learned my lesson when she had no green to wear for St. Patty’s Day this year!).

As for the sales? J. Crew is all I have to say…amazing prices. This sweater and these jeans are my top picks, but I’m not convinced I won’t do another order (or two) before the weekend is out! Oh, and I ordered these faux leather leggings from Spanx because they NEVER go on sale . . . and they’re also in solid textured black and other colors and available in plus sizes! Happy 4th, everyone!

Who needs white tees??? Oh and also…Happy 4th of July Weekend, of course. But seriously…who needs white tees? Because Madewell is having a BIG BIG BIG t-shirt sale right now. I have tested MANY white tees and although my true favorite right now is from Velvet, Madewell tees are definitely not far behind. Bonus: they’re more budget-friendly, they’re available in plus size, and they come in pretty much any color you can imagine. In terms of sales, I’m also having a difficult time controlling myself with Voloshin’s 20% off sale. Trying really hard not to order this dress (it has been calling my name since I first saw it), but for those of you who want to be able to wear a regular bra, these wrap dresses are SO gorgeous as well. Oh… and also, my gorgeous market bag from Black-Owned Sustainable Business Savanna Baskets is on sale in a slightly different design here.

Besides sale searching, I’m in the height of trying to figure out what the rest of our summer is going to look like. I’m such a planner, so having difficulty with so much up in the air. But you know…at least I’ll be prepared with plenty of white t-shirts. Somehow, this actually does make me feel more calm. Ha! We’ll save that for analyzation another time. Happy weekending, everyone.

Laura’s Sale Picks

Hey hey, Friday. I’ll be honest, I’m not really feeling the 4th of July this year, for many reasons, obviously. SO, we will be celebrating the full moon tomorrow night over here with a socially distanced backyard bbq with neighbors, complete with candles and fairy lights in the yard. I am stoked. Fireworks have been going off for days around here, and with a trembling dog and sleepless nights I’m happy to have some responsible social time with yummy food and pretty lights instead of the traditional pops and booms and general loudness. Haha. I’ve been celebrating new and full moons more recently and it’s a wonderful new tradition that I’m really relishing.

The sales, the sales though! I am still here for those, friends. LOFT is having major markdowns (these slippers!), as are J.Crew and Madewell. And so many cute Free People things are on sale at Macy’s. My top pick is probably still this adorable J.Crew sweater. I really need to just order it for the cool nights we still have here in the Northwest. I recently got these Frye boots in, and they’re ahmazing if you like a summer boot like I do. I plan to wear them with cutoffs and a kimono like this cute inexpensive one (I like the print called Colorful…so cute!) Have a happy and safe weekend whatever you’re celebrating, friends, and much love to y’all. xo

Happy 4th, friends! I’m looking forward to spending time with family, eating good food, and reflecting on all of the good things (and people) we have in this country. I know that there is so much turmoil right now, but I’m feeling positive that we can all see the hope. It’s there. It’s in each one of us — so let that light shine through to be seen by everyone around you. We shape the future of this country, so for me, it’s the “Home Of The Free, Because Of The Brave” — let’s all embrace bravery right now. I think that we can be proud to be American and celebrate the 4th of July while understanding that this country has work to do. I’m holding onto that hope, though!

My picks are still all about easy, pretty, and casual. What can give me that boost in a day? That’s what I am always on the hunt for currently…

Em’s Sale Picks

Hi friends — happy Hamilton on Disney+ Release Day!! Seriously, with our small-town July 4th parade cancelled and the local beaches closed, we’ve been looking forward to this weekend for Hamilton and Hamilton alone. Chris and I had the privilege of seeing it when a friend was in the production, so we got the full backstage experience, and Lana knows nearly all the lyrics by heart, but she’s never seen the show, so she is Super Duper Excited. (Literally the first word out of her mouth this morning as she called out from bed: HAMMMILLLLTONNNNN!!!!) And the show feels more relevant than ever, so I think it’s the right move this weekend. (As for the actual 4th, we’ll probably just keep it low-key with a backyard BBQ and these Double PB&J S’mores — they’re my absolute fave, even if you don’t do the homemade graham crackers.)

Sales are totally bananas this weekend, as everyone else on the team mentioned. Almost everything is at least 50% off at J.Crew, and it’s a little tricky to wade through, but final sale items are *additional* 70% off with code GOFOURTH. I officially bought these sunnies, these leopard slingbacks, and these lucite hoops (under $6!) this past week, but I’m seriously considering these jeans and kinda can’t believe they’re in stock. (With the additional 70% off, they’re $28 and so classic.) Also just threw this kiwi bikini in my cart for Lana because it’s $12 and cute as heck. If you’re in the market for high-rise cropped jeans, these Rag & Bone Mayas are 67% off at the Rack and totally timeless. And it would behoove me not to mention this sweater, which feels like the unicorn piece I’ve been hunting for the better part of a year. It’s a cropped v-neck but somehow perfectly cozy and slouchy and not too, uh, youthful, let’s say, to pull off. Have a great weekend!

  1. Laura, do those Frye harness booties run true to size? A lot of reviews say that they ordered down a half size. Can you throw a pic of them on IG? So cute!

    • I’d say they run pretty true. I have my typical size 8 and I don’t think I’d go down but they’re just the tiniest bit long. I’ll put them in my stories!
