A Fresh Way To Wear Tall Boots & Tunics

We’re no strangers to snow up here in the U.P. Right now we’re buried under the latest snowfall and wearing anything other than boots that come up to at least the knee is pretty much out of the question. Even my trusty Sorel wedges are too short to trudge through this stuff. But I do get tired of wearing snow boots day in and day out, so I’m always trying to find new ways to dress for our weather. Our snowy, snowy weather.

Winter Outfit Inspo: Cozy Tunic Sweater + OTK Sherpa-Lined Boots

The tunic-sweater-and-tall-boots combo is pretty much my uniform during the winter. A cozy sweater with skinny jeans or leggings that can be tucked into boots to stay dry in the storms. I try to switch it up, though, which is why I’m such a fan of cut-out sweaters (check out my 10 cold-shoulder sweaters under $100 here), and leggings in sequins or faux leather. My most recent cold-weather obsession are these warm sherpa-lined boots from Dolce Vita. I’ve been looking for a more affordable pair since I saw these on the runway this fall and fell in love–but since I don’t have $1,600 laying around, I’m loving that the boots from Dolce Vita are super-similar and on sale for less than 1/10th of the Celine boots. Woot!

Outfit Details

sweater: Free People Half Moon Bay Pullover – Currently 30% off at Zappos and in different colors (see below). I love the longer length and cut-out back (more sizes here and colors below!)

boots: Dolce Vita Perly Boots – 50% off! I love the sherpa lining and was SO excited when I found a less expensive version of the Celine boots that were all over the fall runways.

jeans: J. Crew Curvy Toothpick jeans – I thought I loved J. Crew’s toothpick jeans until I tried the curvy version. LOVE. The rise is higher, the waistband doesn’t gap, and there’s no muffin top or having to pull them up every two minutes. (I sized down to a 27 due to the higher rise, but a 28 would work as well). In regular, petite and tall sizes for the perfect length.

bralette: Aerie Romantic Lace Padded Bralette – my absolute favorite. Super comfortable and affordable. Available in a bunch of colors and on sale for $20–available in regular, as well as D and DD sizes.

earrings: Nickel & Suede – All my favorite earrings come from them. They’re lightweight and super comfy to wear. Available in a ton of colors and styles.
