Banana Republic is absolutely killing it right now. They have so many outfit pieces that are perfect for the holidays, I was blown away. Here are my favorite clothing items from a recent in-store trip:

1. Black Pants

I really didn’t have super-high hopes for these black pants . . . they just looked liked regular old black pants. But the fit is amazing. They’re extra stretchy (without stretching out) and are washable. YES. They’re available in lots of colors, but I like the classic black the best. They come in three different lengths and petite or regular fits. I sized down to a 4 and am usually a size 6.

2. High-Rise Jeans

LOVE. They fit so well and are the perfect color and length. I’ve been wearing them with sock boots since I got them (although I’m kind of digging the white pump . . . it was the only pair of shoes they had for me to try on!). They look good with everything from work blouses to faux fur to cable-knit sweaters.

I love this blouse. I’d wear it under a blazer for work and under a super-soft faux fur jacket to dinner. This unstructured blazer is super-warm and is a great alternative to a cardigan, but I wouldn’t be able to wear it with short sleeves because it would be itchy against bare skin. This faux fur coat, on the other hand . . . SO freaking soft. LOVE. Love love love.

3. Mid-Rise Jeans

Lots of you are asking about mid-rise pants because you are OVER the high-rise. I get it. These are perfectly in-between a high- and low-rise and are super-comfortable. I love the lighter wash, and these come in three lengths for the perfect fit. Super easy to dress up or down and reviewers love them. (I love this blouse with the side tie. Both the blouse and faux fur coat come in a gorgeous emerald green color that would look amazing together!)

4. Vegan Leather Pants

I will never be over my faux leather leggings, especially during the cold winter months. These are especially awesome because they’re pants — so you can wear them, well, like pants. (No total butt coverage necessary.) They have a hidden side zipper, a concealed elastic waistband and come in regular, short and tall inseams. (I wasn’t sure about the color combo in the middle here, but I’ve been seeing so much burgundy and purple-pink I thought I’d give it a try. That Sherpa Bomber is my favorite, though.)

5. Soft Oversized Tunic

It’s called “Luxespun” and that’s exactly what it feels like. So soft and easy . . . throw on over anything from jeans to a faux leather skirt, and layer it under a velvet blazer or black turtleneck when it gets cold. (Also in black or olive green, and in regular and petite sizes.)

6. Velvet Jumpsuit

I loved this jumpsuit, but they didn’t have my size in the store. On the right I’m wearing a size 6 (my usual size), which was just a bit baggy and on the left I’m wearing a size 2. Too small. Size 4 would have been perfect. It was crazy comfortable and comes in regular, petite and tall sizes. (Hello holiday parties!)

7. Flight Jumpsuit

This was out of my comfort zone, but it was really comfortable and super-soft. It runs about a size big (I’m wearing a 4 and am usually a 6). Nursing-friendly. I think Laura would rock this one! (Also in olive green on sale!)

8. Velvet Pants

I SO wanted to love these, and I think they’d be PERFECT on someone who’s a little straighter. That’s a nice way of saying my butt was too big for them. The XS pulled across the front and the S was just too baggy. SO comfortable though — Shana would look amazing in these!

9. Utility Jeans

I had to include these jeans. They’re on crazy sale right now, and come in regular or short lengths. I’m in a regular 28 here. I especially love the zippers on the bottom that you can leave unzipped (like I do in the pic) or zip up for a tighter bottom. They’re thicker but also softer than typical cargo pants. The green is sold out, but the mocha is a perfect neutral for winter.
