I’m over on the World Market blog talking about mudroom makeovers just in time for puddle-jumping season. Here’s a sneak peek – find out how a few items work double-duty if you’re working with a small space like we are!
And here’s another look I put together using navy and kelly green – they may be maximum preppy, but something about them also screams fresh, which is what we want for spring! I love the mix of warm metals with this color scheme – think gold and brass for accessories, and don’t be afraid to mix both in your room design.
Coat Hooks: Anthropologie Hunter-Gatherer Hook – I love the coordinating but unique look of these hooks, and they’re big enough (6-8 inches tall) to hold bags and coats.
Mirror: West Elm Monte Mirror – The shape and brass color are superluxe, like decadent 70s style made modern.
Bench: Target Threshold Windham Entryway Bench, Navy – The navy wood bench color is so unexpected, I love how crisp and sophisticated it is. Navy is my go-to alternative to black when it comes to clothing, and it definitely works in home decor too!
Pillow: Ikea Vigdis Linen Cushion Cover – A great price for a large (20×20) linen pillow cover to soften up the bench. You could also do a pattern here, but I went with a solid because the rug is a little on the wild side! If you choose a more subtle rug design, definitely go for a patterned pillow.
Rug: Nordstrom Zadie Zebra Indoor/Outdoor Rug – Bang. I died. This is the cutest indoor/outdoor rug I’ve EVER seen, and it comes in tons of colors and two sizes, with a pleasantly surprising price. This will hold up to anything the kids track in, and just hose it off to clean.
Storage Bin: Land of Nod Saved By The Cube Bins Locker Baskets – Extra storage next to the bench for wet or muddy things you don’t feel like dealing with yet! The kelly green color is spot-on, but it also comes in gold if you want to swank up your mudroom even more.
I just couldn’t stop with this brass-navy-green color scheme, so I have a bunch more picks for you guys in the Mudroom shop!
