Cam’s Go-to Holiday Outfit

My Christmas season looks a lot like…

Cocoa and cuddling on the couch with the hubs (the cocoa may or may not be spiked. idk).

Making cookies with the kids (or watching as they eat and simultaneously drop all of ingredients on the kitchen floor).

Grabbing a drink with the bestie, laughing until we realize we need to stop drinking, talking about how fast the year flew by (and how big our babies are getting ::sob::).

Blasting Christmas music in the minivan and dancing to it like a fool, while running around doing the normal mom things with the kids.

Bonfires with our neighbors/built-in-family in the back yard. <3

Online Christmas shopping. for ALL OF THE PRESENTS. Free two day shipping. I mean, come on!

A very little amount of sequins, glitter and champagne bottle poppin’.

Nah, really I wouldn’t change a thing (except to maybe go to ONE fabulous holiday party – haha).

So. My go-to holiday outfit is a pretty casual one, but one with festive elements thrown in…because CHRISTMAS.

Start With a Sweater Vest

I could have done a normal sweater, of course, but what I like about a sweater vest is that it’s different…and such a fun layering piece. I wore mine over this boho Free People tunic top that I’ve had for a couple of years now – love the flirty and girly vibe it brings to the whole look.

Add Trimmings

This is where I throw in the festive bit…so that it actually looks like a Christmas outfit. I’ve found the easiest way to accomplish this is to do a blingy statement earring, red bag and a lip to match. It totally does the job.

Finish w/ a Fringe Bootie

This was a surprise to me – that I actually liked the brown bootie with the black and grey on top. I really, really do though. Maybe it’s because it is unexpected and a step away from the usual. Normally I would go with a charcoal or black bootie with all of this, but I tried something new…and I LOVE EET.

outfit details

vest: Trouve sweater vest – not available any more, but this chunky sweater vest is very similar, as is this Madewell vest.

tunic: Free People Sleeveless Printed Trapeze Top (says it’s a dress, but…ha ha. FUNNY). I wore it without a long tee underneath, because I live in the south…and did not need the extra layer, but you can totally layer a long sleeve tee underneath if you need it. (true to size, for reference)

jacket: Biker Jacket (old) – love a good leather (or pleather, in my case) biker jacket. It’s a staple for me – adds that edge so easily. I really like the looks of this BLANKNYC Moto Jacket.

jeans: BlankNYC skinny jeans that I cropped myself – If you’d rather not buy a pair of jeans to hack (lol), these BP. Raw Edge Skinny Jeans are awesome, as are these Joe’s Icon Ripped Jeans. I keep going back to these One Teaspoon Jeans, but they seem a little short, but maybe if you’re shorter…they’ll be perfect for you.

booties: Kate Spade Bitsy Fringe Bootie – I searched high and low for these babies and alas, sold out. I did, however, find these Lucky Fringe Booties and they are very similar. In fact, I’m kind of dying over them. Right?? Gorgeous.

bag: old – this Sole Society tasseled cross body is amazing. I’ve had my eye on it for awhile now. It looks a bit bigger than my tiny cross body, too. Important!

earrings: Baublebar (old) – their Arcelia earrings are a similar statement

May your Christmas season be full of peace, love and JOY. And cute outfits.

I wouldn’t complain if there was a little bit more champagne popping this year. Just sayin’. I mean, I wouldn’t mind.
