AHHH…The Cutest Kids’ Raingear

Jacket (similar) | Boots

If you’ve been hanging out around the blog this past month, then you know we’ve been talking all about our favorite spring styles from floral pants to striped sweaters. Spring is in the air and we are excited. (Well…except for Scotti.  Michigan just got…wait for it…three feet of snow.)  But the rest of us can look forward to some warm weather, longer days, and….rain.  Lots and lots of rain.

We recently wrote a post on how to spruce up your classic trench and featured some cute rain gear in our newsletter, but we haven’t yet touched on what is (arguably) the best part of rainy days:  little kids stomping around in rainboots, amiright?

I asked our fabulous interns to find me some seriously cute kids raingear – something with a high “AWWWW” factor, and they pretty much knocked it out of the park.

Outfit One: Clearly Catty

 Jacket | Umbrella | Boots

I can not get over how freaking cute this entire outfit is. The kitty umbrella gets me every time and I am living for the clear raincoat (good job, Abercrombie).

Outfit Two: Double Trouble

Jacket | Umbrella | Boots

This reversible raincoat has stripes ON BOTH SIDES.  And I love the bright pop of color with the boots and umbrella.  (These were Pax’s favorite boots, BTW.  He had a red – or “wed” – pair each year until recently.  SOB!)

Outfit Three: Change of Heart

Jacket | Umbrella | Boots

Three words: Color. Changing. Umbrella. The white raindrops on the umbrella turn RAINBOW colors when wet and it is the coolest thing ever.

Outfit Four: Crocodile Blues

Jacket | Umbrella | Boots

I’m not typically a Crocs girl, but readers have raved about how easy these are to pull on, and they do come in a ton of fun colors.  And I love the almost-sophisticated take on an animal raincoat.

Outfit Five: Under the Sea

Jacket | Umbrella | Boots

This Boden raincoat gets better each time I look at it.  Love the striped lining, and this print is more high-design that I initially gave it credit for.

Can one of DM some cute rainboot pics of your littles?  My baby fever is hitting hard right now, and my seven-year-old is NOT cooperating.  (Shocking.)

  1. Love these pairings- and I agree on the non-cooperation! When did it become “uncool” to wear rainboots/jacket?! Ever since third grade!

  2. My favourite kids rainboots are Bergsteins (if you live in Europe) or Kamiks (if you live in North America). We lived in Amsterdam and now Vancouver, so we know rain.

Avoid the Hatley stuff (we love their pjs but the raincoats have hoods that aren’t tall enough to pull up comfortably, the rain pants are only water resistant and develop cracks, and if they still have the handles on the boots, ours ripped off quickly).
