Gang, do you know Social Threads? If you recall, we profiled Sara and Maureen, the duo who started this genius online store a while back (here). In a nutshell, Social Threads is like a really well-edited selection of weekend pieces….all under $100. We had lunch with them other day, and they surprised me with a bunch of goodies to play around with. Not only do they get me (high-five Maureen!!)…but there were so many things to love that I had to share.
But here are the rules of this particular engagement: we’re all going to pretend that I’m standing in a clean, well-lit closet, with everything hanging nicely in place, on matching hangers. (Not surrounded by boxes, piles of laundry, and clothes spilling out everywhere.) Got it?
Clean freaks….consider yourselves warned.
The Outfit I WANT To Wear Everyday
This top is by Lush, maker of Scotti’s tried-and-true post-partum favorite. I love the lines, the drape, and how the navy makes it look much more expensive than it is.
The jeans? They’re by Blank NYC. I had given up on Blank’s denim for a while because they were overly committed to the realllly low rise….but they’ve since fixed that problem. These jeans have an 8.5″ rise, and are as soft as….wait for it….pajamas. For reals. They’re a bit long, so I rolled them up. (I’ll be hacking them off soon.)
The Outfit I’m Actually Wearing Everyday
Buh-bye, heels. But this top is gray and has thumbholes..full disclosure: no one could resist it and it’s currently sold out. UGH. If you click the link, however, you can opt to be emailed if it ever becomes available again. I’ll keep you guys posted. (Same jeans, tho. Because….pajamas. And they’re in stock.)
The Cardigan I Actually Like
Ok – this pic is not doing this cardigan justice. It’s fleecey soft, thin and drapey, and the lines are just…..surprisingly good. Another piece that looks more expensive in real life.
The Jeans That Will Save My Sanity in April
April is often the worst month in Philly. You want sunshine and flowers, you get mud and sweaters. Ugh. I like that these jeans are springy, yet practical. (And will look cute come summer with a little tank and strappy heels.)
The only note of caution is that they run small. I’m wearing a size 25, and they’re a little tight in the waistband.
The One Where The Cute Top Distracts From My Mess of a Life
You can decide if that’s metaphorically, physically, or both. In any case, this top is adorbs. Same pajama-like jeans.
Another Way to Wear That Cardigan
It’s good, right???
The Outfit I Can Barely Look At Because It’s Snowing Outside
I am excited to wear this, tho. Nude sandals and all.
The shorts are another insanely soft pair by Blank denim.
The One Where I’m Basically Copying Sara
Sara, one of the founders of Social Threads, was wearing these pants on their blog. We’re constantly getting questions about no-shorts summer outfits, and I looooved her look. So I copied her. This will be the easiest summer outfit ever.
The Jeans I Can’t Decide If I Should Crop Or Not
These higher rise jeans are super soft, and I love how they look with a tucked-in tee. Originally I thought I’d have to hack them shorter…but I kinda love the awkward length with the white heeled booties. Hmmmm….
