Hey hey, party peeps. I’m back at ya (after too long of a hiatus!) with some good ol’ dressing room selfies. I’m jealous of the natural light Emily found at her local Anthropologie, but despite the questionable dressing room lighting, the current selection at my LOFT is gorgeous. The colors…the COLORS! There are some really fab shades, fabrics, and just all-around cute stuff right now.
Ooh, a lot of pieces I tried are 40% off with code FESTIVE…Yay! Let’s check it out!
1. The Holiday Top You Need
This color is so insanely gorgeous. The top is soft, beautiful and fits true to size. It does run a little long in length, so I should have tried it in petite, but it was easy enough to half-tuck. It’s cute with jeans, but I wish I had tried it with the taupe cords, below.
The jeans I’m wearing are super-cute but I can’t find them online. Meh. I tried another pair in a similar wash, but I’d go for the regular length in those instead of petite. You can see them below, with the chewed hem.

2. The Velvet Pants We All Love
I have these in navy from last year (selling out fast), but they’re back. I tried them in black and they’re still good! They only had the regular length in my store, but I like this longer inseam with the mules I’m wearing. TTS (I’m wearing my regular size 27 here), and they’re available in the curvy fit, too. They aren’t high rise, but are so flattering on the booty! I highly recommend snagging them!
Also, this sweater is adorable. It has a pretty pointelle detail in the knit (it comes in a few other shades, too).

3. Pretty Taupe Cords That Go With Everything
First of all, this yellow coat is going quickly so hop on that! I’m loving it paired with these taupe cords (in Sand). I find lighter pants are tougher to wear sometimes, but this shade goes so well with wintery pastels. I’m liking it all with the pop of leopard. I wound up bringing home the cords in Olive instead, but now I’m wishing I had gotten both! TTS.
p.s. That beautiful blue sweater came home, too.

4. A Stunning Velvet Jacket
This jacket is so beautiful. I love the military-style cut with the velvet fabric. It’s wearable for everyday but easily dress-up-able. They only had an XS at the store, but I would have preferred a small.

5. Dressy Pants (That Are Actually Warm)
These navy houndstooth pants are so cute. I’m wearing the petite size, but I will say the regular may have fit my thighs and butt better. I don’t know if this flannel-type fabric would relax, but it wasn’t super stretchy; I tried them in 6P and 8P; the main difference is the length. But the 8P did fit a little better in the thighs/booty.
I’m tempted to try another size and just hem them. I’m loving this entire combo and would have snagged them for sure if I needed a dressy, warm pant.

7. Cords, Again (But This Time In Olive Green)
I always wind up wanting an olive green pant for fall and winter, so these were a no-brainer. They’re the same as the taupe cords above, but this green had to come home with me. They fit great and I love the rise (not super high, but still hold me in).
I’m all about olive with black and white, and this pom pom sweater is just adorable. It’s a super-comfortable cotton for those of you who don’t like scratchy.

8. Really Great Gray Skinny Jeans
These came home with me too, but I managed to forget other detailed shots. They’re SO soft, with a great fit and true to size. I’m wearing the 27P here, but I like how the length is a bit longer. Highly recommend if you need a good reasonably-priced gray jean. Not sure why they call it a “washed black” wash, it’s definitely a true gray.

9. A Wool Blazer In This Unexpected Color
I thought this was an interesting color for this time of year, but it really looks beautiful mixed with just about any of the colors they have in store right now. It’s so good with ivory and I’d try it with either of the taupe cords, too. I’d style it up with something burgundy, like boots, lipstick or a scarf. It’s a beautifully made blazer.

Loft is winning lately! I just got the straight curvy cords and a cowl neck sweater from them that I love!
I LOVE the Loft but most of their sweaters this shipment are just a miss for me. 🙁 They all tended to fit very fitted in the stomach area and just were not very flattering for ladies with some of those love handles. I do love the poncho like sweaters though and their leggings as usual are on point! Love the post though Laura–just a heads up for us ladies that aren’t a size small. 🙂
Laura, I love this! You look awesome, going to have to try some of this stuff.
Thanks so much, Holly! I hope you find some good stuff!
I think I am going to have to go try on those velvet pants. And that white sweater. And the sweater dress you put a link to.
Yes, they’re all great!!
Thanks for this post ! I really like the velvet pants and may have to pop over there on my lunch break. I always appreciate these posts – as you and I have a similar shape. You always help push me to try new things.
I’m so so glad it’s helpful to do this! I hope you find something great!
