This Portlander recently went to Philadelphia…and promptly the 20-degree weather arrived. Oh, joy. In Philly you walk — a lot — in said 20 degrees, with wind blasting in your face and maybe the occasional snow, too. (Did you see me and Gwen grabbing lunch and braving the elements on The Mom Edit’s IG stories?) I was a little out of my element, but oh-so-glad to see my peeps, regardless!
Level Up: Outfit Upgrade Ideas At Everlane
1. A Warm Puffer Jacket In A Gorgeous Shade
We like our nice balmy 50s here in the Northwest, and if I hadn’t had this gorgeous sleeping bag of a coat waiting for me in Philly, I wouldn’t have made it y’all. There’s a reason I live in the mild temps of the Upper Left Coast. Brrr! But not only was I warm in this coat, I felt quite stylish, too. I mean, look at this color! It’s gorgeous (which, dare I say, is no easy task for most puffers). It’s a good find.
Let me just wax poetic about a wearable sleeping bag for another sec: it’s lightweight but warm, has a great hood, is a fabulous shade (I’m SO picky) and it’s made from recycled polyester and recycled down and feathers. Sweet. I carried this thing all the way home the other day and it is so much lighter than other puffers I’ve had. I didn’t feel like I needed to buy an extra seat on the plane for it. Win! It does run a little bit oversized, so I went with an XS here and was happy with that choice.

The Re:Down Sleeping Bag Puffer (xs) // See above. I love this thing. Recycled poly and down materials, cozy, lightweight and lovely.
Premium Cashmere Ribbed Mockneck Sweater (s) // This is SO soft. The shaping in the ribbing is lovely. I wish it were cut a bit differently at the bottom, but I still managed to half-tuck it per usual. I think I’d actually size down in this for a bit different fit — but it is a really gorgeous sweater.
Authentic Stretch Button Fly High Rise Jeans (27 ankle) // These are a team fav and also mine. I wore them on the long flight to Philly last week, and they were so comfy yet didn’t stretch out. Win. TTS
Tread The Trainer Core Collection // This is a great sneaker. I wrote about them here when I tried a different shade. They are comfy, well-made and look honestly a bit upscale. The suede and leather are really nice and sturdy, yet the footbed and sole are comfy. LOVE. I did go up 1/2 size in these, and I’m glad I did.
The Micro Form Bag // This tiny little bag is probably the most adorable thing on the website. It’s big enough to hold the larger smartphones with spare room for a lipstick and your cards, too (and even a small hand lotion that I cannot go without this time of year). It’d be the perfect bag for a concert or event when you just need the essentials.
2. This Beautiful Scarf (It Would Make A Lovely Gift!)
This gorgeous scarf is a mercerized wool and cashmere blend. It’s blanket sized, but still easily wearable and warm! It’s perfect for traveling and was so cozy to have on the plane. It comes in a heather gray and black, too, but this warm caramel shade is just as stunning in real life. Honorable mention to this cute plaid blouse, too. I’ve worn it a couple of times now. It’s the perfect piece if you want something that’s seasonally fun yet feminine.

Wool Cashmere Blanket Scarf// This scarf is lovely. The color is stunning. It also comes in pale heather gray and black, and any of them would be a really nice gift for someone on your list. It’s substantial in weight, but also quite soft. And it’s warm! It’s amazing for travel, like a blanket you can wear around your neck.
The Mockneck Flannel Shirt (4) // This is adorable. It’s not the actual flannel you’re used to and like I thought it would be, but it’s super cute, soft and a great light brushed cotton fabric. Fit is TTS and a bit boxy. I have it tucked in here, but it has a bit of a wide a-line cut at the bottom. I really like this a lot, and it’ll be a go-to winter blouse.
Authentic Stretch Button Fly High Rise Jeans (27 ankle) // These are a team fav and also mine. I wore them on the long flight to Philly last week and they were so comfy yet didn’t stretch out. Win. TTS
The New Modern Chelsea Boot // These are a really lovely boot. They are a bit stiff at first, but I can tell they’ll break in beautifully and are really well-made. I sized up a half-size because I typically do with Everlane shoes, but I think these boots are true-to-size. Sizing up might be a wise choice if you plan to wear thick socks, though. This color is gorgeous.
The Micro Form Bag // This tiny little bag is probably the most adorable thing on the website. It is big enough to hold the larger smartphones with spare room for a lipstick and your cards, too (and even a small hand lotion that I cannot go without this time of year). It’d be the perfect bag for a concert or event when you just need the essentials.
