For some people, Friday night is date night. For me, Saturday afternoon is date night. When Friday morning comes around, I’m all “yay! let’s go out tonight!” but then Friday evening comes and I’m all “yay . . . movie on the couch!” (Where I may or may not fall asleep . . . one of Zack’s reasons for not wanting me to choose the movie.). But Saturday afternoon is the WEEKEND and it’s time to CELEBRATE.
One of our favorite places to go in Marquette is Blackrocks Brewery, where we sip on tasty craft beer in the sunshine and play Bags (or Cornhole or Bean Bag Toss, depending on where you’re from) with Greenlea. We bring Greenlea on “date night” because life. Do whatcha gotta do.
These “date nights” are during the day so super fancy outfits aren’t really an option. I need to be comfortable because Greenlea is not at the “sitting still age” (when is that again?), and I also need to layer because the temperature can literally change 20 degrees here in the blink of an eye.
Which is why, when I saw the reviews for this jumpsuit, I was intrigued. Some reviewers mentioned that this one would be great for curvy girls, which is generally not a characteristic of the jumpsuits/rompers I’ve seen. I was skeptical when I ordered it, but when I tried it on I was in love. The length is perfect (rare for a 5’4″ girl) and the drape is flattering without being too clingy. The straps are adjustable (key for a good fit) and it’s super soft. It can be dressed up or down and, of course, in true “el Cheapo” fashion, it’s on sale. Paired with this lightweight moto jacket, it’s the perfect Saturday outfit.
Gap Collarless Tencel Jacket: Also available in navy and tan. This soft, lightweight jacket is perfect for summer layering . . . it’s easy to grab to throw on over dresses, shorts or jeans and can be dressed up or down.
Splendid Wraparound Lace Sandal: Rose gold sandals! I love the wraparound strap on these that can be tied tightly or loosely and the block heel that gives more stability than a typical heel.
Dress (similar and on sale)
Vest (on sale)
Similar sandals here (the zip up is so much easier than monkeying with clasps!)
Have you guys found any jumpsuits/rompers that work for girls with a little junk in the trunk?? Let me know! They’re so easy to throw on and go. Here’s a few more that have caught my eye recently.
