Holiday Capsule Wardrobe, Styled 3 Ways

Is anyone else’s brain fried right about now? This time of year is so busy between the concerts and the recitals and the holiday parties and the gift-buying and the decorating and the planning and . . . I often find myself just staring at my closet, mind completely blank, when it comes time to get dressed. Putting together outfits is the last thing I want to spend time doing during the holidays. So this year I’m making it easy. I’m sticking to a capsule wardrobe. A few (comfy) pieces that I can mix and match for whatever the day (or night) calls for. From holiday parties to shopping, from family gatherings to a night on the town, this wardrobe has it covered.Holiday party season can be exhausting, right? Make your life a bit easier with this winter capsule wardrobe - you'll have something to wear to every event.

For a Holiday Party: Try a Statement Skirt

With a Graphic Tee

A statement skirt dressed down with a graphic tee is a favorite combination of mine. It’s festive, comfy and you won’t have to worry about being too over- or under-dressed. Add red lips and heels, and you’re party ready.

Add A Denim Jacket

I’m often super-hot or super-cold — despite whatever the temp is. Breastfeeding will do that to you.) A denim jacket is easy to throw on in case I’m chilly. I love the way this one fits. It’s slightly oversized in the shoulders and length, but tapers so there’s not a ton of excess fabric around the waist or hips. Perfect to wear open like this.

For Going Out on the Town

Faux Leather Pants With a Graphic Tee

These pants. I love the way they fit. There’s no muffin top because of the mid-rise waistband that kind of holds everything in without being too tight. They run slightly big — I’m wearing a small and am usually a 6/8. They aren’t leggings, so I feel comfortable wearing them with shorter tops that don’t cover the bum.

For a Family Gathering

Add A Comfy Sweater, Denim Jacket & Swap Heels for Comfy Sneaks

These pants are truly comfortable, so they work as well for casual family time as they do for a night out. Wear them with a cozy sweater and comfy sneaks for an easy look that can be dressed up with red lips. (Btw, I’ve wanted these sneakers forever — the “cloudfoam” is ridiculously comfortable AND they’re on sale. Love the rose gold.)
