What are you doing New Year’s Eve? I think we’re actually going to be at the coast cozied up with friends playing games, but if I were headed out to a show or dinner or to fun, not-too-fancy plans this is what I’d be wearing. This coat is amazingly cozy and fun. These boots? Bold yet walkable. (Me, in a nutshell?)
This is my favorite kind of ‘dressed up’ outfit to wear. I’m still comfy in my jeans and tee, but the statement jacket and bold boots give that wow factor that make this feel special. I’d wear this to any concert, girls’ night, friend party, etc., and feel plenty fancy but still me. The bomber jacket makes this special, and the cropped cut of the jacket makes it flattering, especially on those of us who are smaller-framed/shorter. Don’t get me wrong, I love a giant fuzzy jacket, but sometimes I feel like I’m playing dress up when I try to wear one. But the bomber style? Works.
Outfit Details
Monki Zip Front Teddy Jacket – SO cozy and fun, and a nice cropped cut. It would be too overwhelming if it were longer, but it’s just right. Pretty TTS. Wearing a Small. Size down if between sizes.
Naturalizer Giselle Kitten Heel Bootie – The bold color and pointed toe keep these from looking anything like a comfort boot. But they’re easy to wear and fun! I’ve also paired them with black jeans and a bright blue sweater, and love the combo. TTS. *Since these are selling quickly, these are very similar and these are a little lighter red but adorable.
J.Crew Sieze Il Giorno Tee – LOVE this tee. It adds just enough interest to an all-black look. I’d size down though. Wearing a Small and it’s a little big. I love J.Crew tees though.
Levi’s Mile High Skinny – in color Real Deal. Love these. They’re soft and fit well, and make you like wayyy taller. TTS. Wearing a 27.
Envelope clutch – (similar)
Layer up the jewelry to finish it off: earrings, bracelet, statement ring

Whatever your plans are for NYE, wear something fun! I’m tempted to make our friends dress up with me for game-night-in at the coast. Haha. Or I may throw this on for date night soon! We’re headed to an awesome Solstice dinner/story evening with one of the producers of The Moth soon (if you’ve never listened to their podcast you must). I’m so excited for an interesting date night out. We’ve been trying to be creative lately instead of just going to dinner or a movie.
Hang in there, friends. Hope the craziness that is holiday time is somewhat kept at bay, and that you can enjoy these cozy, dark holiday days!
xo,
L
