Pink Cords: Six Ways To Wear Them Now

We had so many readers asking how to style pink cords that we thought a quick video might be fun. Here are six of my favorite ways to wear them (spoiler: I wear ’em like my skinny jeans and try not to overthink).

New here? Hi and welcome! To catch you up….we first named colorful cords as one of The Most Wearable Fall Trends of 2018…and then I made my case for pink cords, here. Now I’m just attempting to prove my earlier point: pink cords are versatile and easy to wear.

Sooo…now I need pink cords. Love the camo and leopard looks, of course. But the soft grays!!! That outfit has me all😍😍😍! It’s perfect!

  2. All right…you’ve convinced me!! Love the camo and gray and black with it. And of course the graphic tee and sneaks.

  3. I have those exact Sorel boots and they have been a mainstay of my winter wardrobe for the last two years—anyone on the fence, get them!!! So comfortable and warm, and even with the high wedge, they are unbelievably walkable, dare I say joggable, as needed.

This post was a great reminder to shop my closet—can make just about all these combos from what I already have in there. Thank you! In that, how do we feel about cayenne peppper colored cords? That’s what I have at the moment (although that pink color is gorgeous!).

Also, i think you mentioned this was coming, but can we talk denim hemlines soon? Been happily diy-ing my own alterations with a pair of scissors for awhile now, but don’t want to end up with all raw hems if that seems like it’s possibly running its course.

    • Yay – so glad you found this helpful! Shopping our own closets is THE BEST. Makes being a picky buyer easier (and better in the long run). And I don’t plan on slowing down on the raw hem anytime soon. I think it’s a pretty safe bet. xo

  4. Shana, How do I love thee (and your adorable video)? Let me count the ways…

Way more ways than you styled those cords!

  5. Thanks to your pink cord post I bought these during the shopbop sale and they are magically freshening up my fall closet! It was feeling very meh, I think because I am so tired of skinny jeans. I want to buy a fresh style (the Madewell and Rag and Bone sales are calling) but what? Cropped straight, cropped wide, cropped baby boot cut … they all look so cute with bare ankles and sneaks or loafers but what will have staying power in the winter when my poor ankles will want to be covered? Please help dear shopping enabler!

    • RIGHT???? You and I and Laura (and Scotti, too, I think) are all struggling with this exact question right now. Important distinction: flat shoes or heels? Because if you are OK with heeled booties, than I think any of the above would work (cropped straight, wide, baby boot). I’m especially struggling because I really love a flat boot or sneaker, which is proving much trickier to style.

  6. I love, love, love your style … but my life cannot handle this sort of budget. The H & M were sold out from the start, and the (look of) the fit on the budget options is definitely disheartening.

  7. American Eagle has a pair of pink cropped flare cords at the moment. Side note – I am going to use these tips and apply them to my blush pink jeans. I have only worn them once so far after I lost my initial “I’m going to wear the heck out of these” attitude.
