Head to Toe Spring Picks from JCPenney

For me, it’s always about the details.  While Shana’s the expert on putting outfits together and knowing what pieces will look good together, I’m better at the finishing touches.  Makeup, hair, accessories . . . the details that complete a look.  For example, as soon as I saw this adorable lace-up sweater, I pictured red lips and a cat eye.  I found this ridiculously fun bag and feather earrings and was like yaaassssss.  I mean, they’re both great reminders not to take yourself too seriously, am I right?

These pieces are all from JCPenney – from the shoes to the bag to the earrings . . . even the makeup I’m wearing.  They had reached out to ask if we’d take a look at their Spring trends and I jumped at the chance.  I loved their take on the spring trends (lace-up detail, gingham, ruffles and bows), their sales and price points and their fun accessories that are right up my alley. (Not to mention Sephora Inside JCPenney).

Levis Denim Trucker Jacket: Wearing size small, I love the lighter wash and the embroidery detail.  Jean jackets are a closet staple and this one will be in heavy rotation (even during my pregnancy).

Striped Pullover: Wearing size small, I love the lace-up detail in the back.  Also in dark green and black stripe or solid grey and solid burgundy.  Super soft and a non-clingy drape.  Oh and did I mention it’s on sale for under $11?? Yaaaaas.

Skinny Denim Ankle Jeans: I had never tried a.n.a. jeans before, but after reading some reviews I decided to give them a try.  Wearing size 6, these are ridiculously comfortable, even with my baby bump.  (I could still button them at 15 weeks, when these pics were taken). I’m loving this purple color for spring.

Sandals (similar)

LOVE Bag: Also in BAE, I love this little bag – especially the fact that it comes with a pouch for the inside so you have the clear plastic trend without everyone seeing what’s in your bag.  Also, my iPhone (plus) fit perfectly into the back and I could check it without taking it out of the bag! (Chain is detachable).

Feather Earrings: LOVE.  Super light and fun to wear.

Sunglasses: Similar, I’m also loving these tortoise shell shades with gold mirror lenses

Lips: Try a longwear lip color (like FENTY BEAUTY Longwear Fluid Lip Color) under a lip gloss for glossy color that lasts. I like being able to reapply gloss over lip color.

Eyes: If you use one eyeliner, stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner should be it.  Waterproof, smudge-proof . . . this stuff literally stays all day (I’ve used it to create cat whiskers on G and those things weren’t budging) and the extra fine tip makes it easier to fill in between lashes for a thicker lash line and to make the perfect cat eye swoop.  Top with Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara for extra-long, extra-thick lashes that won’t smudge.

Brows:  Anastasia Brow Wiz, the all-around best brow product.  Easy to use and in a ton of colors.

Cheeks: NARS Blush in Orgasm, this is the perfect blend of pinky-peach and subtle golden highlights for a universally-flattering glow.  It’s a cult favorite for a reason.

Face: I love the fact that I don’t have to layer powder over FENTY BEAUTY’s Matte Longwear Foundation to set it.  OIl-free and resistant to sweat and humidity, this will be a favorite for warmer weather.

A huge thank-you to JCPenney for sponsoring this post!  I had a great time looking through all of the fun spring trends.  As always, all thoughts, opinions, and product choices are my own.  And readers, thank you SO much for your continued support.  It doesn’t go unnoticed, and is so very much appreciated.
