It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I love a good holiday outfit, but have always had a hard time finding a sparkly top that, A) doesn’t get stuck in my hair, and B) isn’t too revealing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about the crop top and showing a little skin, but when it’s so damn cold outside, the last thing I want is to be freezing.
After hitting all the stores and finding nothing I liked, I returned to my closet and something a bit more tried-and-true: a sparkly little tank. Full disclosure — this tank does get stuck in my hair, so I always try to wear it with an updo or opt for a black leather jacket on top.
This tank alone is kind-of…complicated. Aside from the sequins/hair dilemma, it’s got a lower cut in front, spaghetti straps and cut-outs in the back. That’s not always my thing, so I offset it by layering my favorite white button-down underneath. Pair with some great jeans and a cute pair of booties, and you’ve got yourself a holiday look!

This outfit combo is out of the norm for me, BUT I absolutely love it. It’s fun, fresh and perfect for any party. I love the glitz of the tank paired with the crisp, white shirt, and the jeans just tie everything together so well.
What I love too, is that this style can be replicated very easily — just grab a sparkly top (bonus points if you have one already) and pair with your favorite basics.

I hardly ever comment, but Kat, that is the cutest look. You rock!!
Such a cute idea! Love the layer over a simple white button-down!
Love this look!
Love this (and so great on you!)— adore the mix of casual and festive! It’s outside of my usual, but seems really accessible and fun. I’m going to riff on this tonight. Thanks for posting!
love the look, however, only one item is available in plus size…Please be conscious you are garnering interest of those with your body type and therefore need to make product available to them. I am so happy you are representing plus! Please continue on!
So cute and so clever! I have been dealing with some hormonal acne that has blessed me with its presence after turning 40 (ugh) – some of which is appearing on my back and making me self-conscious about wearing some of my more skin-showing tops. I am now inspired to rock some of them this way.
This is a great post!
