French Connection, one of my very favorite brands (due to their slightly edgy and almost subversive take on trends…coupled with european tailoring) sent me this gorgeous wool coat. I received it in September when we were still rocking 70+ temps, and stuck it in the back of my closet.
Happy, HAPPY rediscovery. Even better? It’s still in stock, but now on crazy sale – 50% off, then another 50% off with the code 50SALE.
I’m also wearing my favorite sweater, my favorite jeans, my favorite boots, my favorite hat and drinking a warm coffee on a beautifully cold and snowy day with one of my favorite guys. I mean seriously. How lucky can a girl get?
wearing
coat: French Connection Quilted Nylon Mixed Media Coat c/o (wearing size US 0 for reference….was $300, on sale for $200, PLUS take another 50% off with code 50SALE)
sweater: Zady Essentials Sweater c/o (the warmest and most flattering sweater I own – XS for reference)
hat: Sole Society c/o
jeans: Rag and Bone Skinnies in Surf Wash (size 25 for reference)
boots: Ugg Australia Elisabeta Boots in black weave – almost completely sold out…but the regular, untextured black Elisabeta boots are in stock (and on sale)…also at Amazon
on Pax: “ninja pants” (girl’s section, Target), H&M jacket, mis-matched gloves cause that’s how we roll, Kamik boots (so insanely warm) and a cute little hat from Target.
One note about the coat: It’s no puffer, that’s for sure. For running in-and-out, doing errands, etc. this coat is great. But if we were going to spend extended periods of time outside, I’d probably be cold. (But I am alwaysfreakingcold like sweaters-on-the-beach-in-July-always-cold, so take this with a huge grain of salt.)
It’s my birthday week, you guys. On Thursday I turn thirty-somesnarglebarglemuttermutterthing. Thursday night Mike is taking all four of us to Local for dinner, and then he and I will be doing one of our “day dates” in Philly this Saturday. I. Can’t. Wait. Philly-ites, any recommendations?
MWAH!
S
ps. Since I’m feeling totally self-indulgent…here are a few of my favs from the French Connection clearance sale.
Goddamn that coat is gorgeous! Philly-ite recommendation for your day-date — go to the Barnes! Or the Rodin Museum! I would suggest doing the Mural Art Program Walking Tour (they have an iPhone app and its a great way to stroll around with purpose) but I think it’s going to be too cold.
Gorgeous! And happy birthday, fellow Aquarius! 😉
This is per-friggin-fection. Seriously. EXACTLY how I want to look on SAHM days in the winter. But what I really really really really want is a less expensive version of those Elisabetas. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease??? 🙂
Yes! Try these: http://rstyle.me/n/wcnynpxu6 (same style, without fancy italian leather) or these: http://rstyle.me/n/wcnz2pxu6 (suede)
I’m glad I’m not the only one buying my little boy pants from the girls department! They’re so much better…!
That coat!!!! It’s perfect! Thanks for sharing!
I’d been reading your blog for a few months now and have to tell you how much I love it. I’m a plus-size girl who lives in sweeatshirts and jeans and yet I come back to your blog day after day. You have a fabulous smile, great fashion sense and I love seeing the pics with your kiddos. Thanks for letting us take a peek into your life. Happy birthday!
LOVE the coat! French Connection has some great looking stuff, but I got a little hung up on what I am calling the Sequin Diaper and had some fun with it here: http://romanreboot.com/2015/01/28/style-this-challenge-sequin-diaper/. Shana – I think you can style anything, but I would be seriously impressed on this one. Sequin diaper for Philly day date? 🙂 Happy birthday!
Hahaha! And did you see the silver version?!?
You always look beautiful, but in that first picture you are especially beautiful 🙂 love it!
I love your hat, but I don’t think its available anymore, or I cant find it. Any other suggestions for a similar one?
Love the mismatched mittens.
That last picture of Pax? I. DIE. the cutest.
Pax is the sweetest little guy and the way the two of you look at each other just radiates with love. That’s all. 🙂 (And happy birthday week, of course!)
Okay, that coat is amazing! I love your blog. I honestly would’ve never looked twice at that jacket online, but when I see it on you with cute outfit styling that I could never come up with myself, I’m in!
Happy birthday, Shana!
Totally obsessed with this coat. Keep coming back to this post… May have to pull the trigger!
Oh, man! That coat is super awesome! I am in love! Love both of your outfits!
Sounds like some fun plans coming up! Happy Birthday!
Its going to be ridiculous cold this weekend. I’ve wanted to go on a day date to North Bowl after we went for a kiddie bday party. They’ve got BEER and food other than chicken nuggets! Its a nice cozy weekend to hole up at Tria and drink wine, too. I love the idea of the date day, we’ve can’t really work that out, but would be so much better than falling asleep over my dinner…
I have a little website request – would it be possible to have your links open in a new tab? I always click on your links and then close the window when I’m done and then it’s like Doh! where did the article go?! Thanks!
Is the size 0 ok? I am 5’1” 34 C chest and usually wear a 2. Would you reccomend the 0 or 2 for me? Thanks!
