Finding A New Legging to Live In

I have an old pair of Aerie leggings that people just seem to love. Anytime I show myself on social media or run an errand while wearing them, at least one person will ask me about them, I kid you not. They are truly nothing fancy — just full-length, ribbed leggings with two shades of blue mixed in (and it’s somewhat obvious that they have been lived in), I’m not sure what their magic sauce isPerhaps it’s that they’re something other than the go-to black, or perhaps you can tell that they are one of my favorites — maybe it’s the fact that they DO look lived in that sets a “those must be good” tone.

The leggings are from many years ago, which means I can never help the inquiring minds, so when I was wanting a few fresh workout sets for the new year, I decided to turn to the same place and see if I could score some new beloved leggings that I would live in just the same. Spoiler alert: I most certainly found them!

Finding A Sports Bra & Leggings Set I Want To Live In

For fresh workout sets, I checked out Aerie to see if I could score some high-waisted leggings I'd want to live in. Spoiler alert: I most certainly did!

Set 1 | Set 2 | Set 3

Maybe it’s due to The Year 2020 and pregnancy causing me to live in comfy clothes more than ever, but when I browsed Aerie’s latest collections online I found myself wanting all-of-the-things. They have so many cute leggings, all of which seemed to have a matching bra to go along with them, and before long I found myself adding multiple sets to my cart that looked like they would be great for lounging, running errands and getting a good workout in.

Legging | Sports Bra

I have a few requirements for leggings that I want to live all of life in. First, they have to be high rise. I love the added comfort and confidence I get from having high-rise leggings to hold my midsection in, especially now after having a baby. Second, I prefer them full length. And last, they can’t be scratchy or uncomfortable fabric in any way. All three of these leggings passed the test with flying colors!

The One With The Print I Love: Aerie Offline Real Me High-Waisted Camo Leggings

Legging | Sports Bra

This camouflage set has a slight sheen to it, which I wasn’t sure if I would love or hate in real life. Turns out I LOVE it. The sports bra comes with pads that can be taken out, which I always appreciate, and it has a cool criss-cross back which is awesome when it peeks out of the sweatshirt above. Sadly, I didn’t realize until typing up this post that the sweatshirt is now sold out, but since they’re keeping it up in their sweatshirt section, I have hopes it will come back in stock!! I love wearing louder print leggings such as these, because they’re the perfect pairing to the favorite basic plain-colored sweatshirts in your closet.

The Winner: Aerie The Hugger High-Waisted Leggings
(Also In Tie-Dye)

For fresh workout sets, I checked out Aerie to see if I could score some high-waisted leggings I'd want to live in. Spoiler alert: I most certainly did!

Legging | Sports Bra

Oh my goodness, THIS set, you guys. The mega winner for me is this sports bra, simply because I’ve never found one like this — that trendy, crop top type bra — that comfortably fits my boobs. I’m currently rocking a D cup and have felt too big for any I’ve tried in the past. I nearly gasped out loud with excitement when I first pulled this on. It has light support that would be perfect for yoga, and the fabric that both the bra and legging are made out of is buttery soft. Oh yeah, and the leggings have a pocket on each side! This is a set worth buying in multiple colors!

The Most Supportive: Aerie Offline Seamless High-Waisted Leggings

For fresh workout sets, I checked out Aerie to see if I could score some high-waisted leggings I'd want to live in. Spoiler alert: I most certainly did!

Legging | Sports Bra

This seamless snake print set is the most supportive of the ones I tried on. The sports bra is perfect for high-intensity workouts, and the fabric of the leggings were tight enough to feel super-held-in, but still left me feeling comfortable. This is definitely the first one I reach for in the morning to workout in if it’s clean!

  1. Love this review but – controversial opinion time – I HATE HATE HATE removable padding in sports bras. Either sew them in or leave them out! Nothing worse than trying to fish out and reshape the padded cups from deep within the recesses of a sports bra.

    • Oooo I hear that!! But I actually always take them OUT completely, which is why I said I love the removable padding, LOL. I don’t like extra padding in that area.

    • OH! I haven’t felt that to be true for me, I always buy my normal sizes (including these sets)! I think it may have shifted years back when they launched their “real” campaign, thats when I saw older Instagram influencers (meaning, 20’s/30’s) become apart of the campaign and rock their clothes, and when I first began buying from them.

  2. I just got the “winner” middle set in heathered blue in the mail and immediated also ordered the heathered orange and heathered pebble (which you are wearing) in the same set. I agree that it is a really nice set. (note: I don’t know about this set but sometimes with active wear the heathered colors in soft fabrics have different more “poly” fabrication when they offer the same style in a print such as tie dye just a warning to others). I particularly like that the waist band at the very top doesn’t have a seam (which always creates a dig in) but is just a fabric fold over. I do wish, however, that this top had slots for removeable cups…after a couple of kids my small girls need some help. But the top is still cute and flattering. I was really surprised by the flattering and comfortable fit of this set. i also found this set true to my usual size small.
