Many of My Most-Worn Favs Are On Sale For Labor Day…..

Ok, Gang.  I had really low expectations for Labor Day Sales, but then I started, uh, actually doing my job (hello procrastination) and whoa.  They’re actually kinda insane.  Not only is there a good crop of summer stuff on sale, but there’s some Fall finds that are not to be missed.  Even better?  Many of the pieces currently on sale are the exact pieces I’ve been wearing over the last few months (or in some cases, years), so I can personally vouch for these sale pieces.

Let’s start with my favorite pieces that happen to be on sale somewhere.  I’ll start with my most-worn, and work backwards from there.

My IRO Leather Jacket

The Intermix sale completely blows me away.  I bought my black leather IRO jacket five years ago (a post-chemo present to mahself thankyouverymuch) and it’s still going strong.  Definitely the most-worn piece I own.  And in those five years, I’ve never found it on sale for 30% off.  Not only is a verrrry similar style on sale at Intermix, but they have several styles/colors of IRO leather jackets on sale.  I’m seriously eyeing up that tan one.  I can fit into a size 36, but I prefer a 38 to fit over sweaters (and they will stretch out a little bit with use).

Our Collection With Voloshin

Ok, so not to toot our own horn here, but the TME X Voloshin collection is all 20% off.  AND…these pieces did end up being some of my very favorites.  Which, I suppose, is unsurprising, since they were loosely based on favs I’ve owned for years just…tweaked and perfected.  The entire collection is handmade in India from 100% organic cotton, so there’s that.

I know this graphic is ridiculous, but I wanted to try and show all of the ways I’ve been wearing these pieces without totally overwhelming this post.  I know!  We’ll throw some slideshows up on Instagram (@themomedit) so you can see the pics better.

The Most Walkable High-Heels I Own

No joke.  These Paige mules took me all over cobblestone streets in Sicily, and are so comfortable, I’ve been wearing them during the day in Philly, walking to the office and back.  Last night I walked – in these mules – from Dilworth Plaza to Pub & Kitchen.  For those of you who don’t know: it’s FAR.  They’re pricey, even on sale, but are totally worth the price.  The suede upper is the softest thing that’s ever been on my foot, and they never slide off. The heel is both beautiful and walkable.  Can’t recommend these enough.

This Cami NYC 100% Silk Cami

I’ve tried a bunch of Cami NYC’s styles…and the classic racerback, in black, is still my favorite.  I machine wash it (in a mesh laundry bag) and lay it flat to dry.  Because of that, it’s not shiny (you can see the difference between mine and the product pic, here) but I prefer a matte finish for every day.  And the fabric still looks good (even washed and matte) to dress up at night.  I’ve found that this little silk top is one of the coolest things to wear in the summer…yet acts as a warm base layer when tucked into jeans under a sweater.

In order to machine wash, I’d stick to dark colors (black or navy).  And I haven’t had as much luck with Cami NYC’s jacquard fabric.  I wear an xs, but it’s as tight as I’d want it across the chest.  Am thinking of getting another one, one size up.  The whole line is 20% off at Cami NYC (use code LD19).

Linen Dresses By Reformation

I know I recently just waxed poetic about linen dresses…but seriously.  I love them. Linen is the type of fabric that gets better over time, and if we’re talking about Reformation’s linen…it’s made with zero water, and 1/4 of the carbon emissions as cotton.

Bonus that their designs are some of the most timeless I’ve found. My exact dress (below) is not available, but this year’s model is so freaking close (just a slight tweak to the skirt – much improved, in my opinion) and it’s on sale.  But I went ahead and rounded up all of my favorite Reformation linen dresses, all on sale.  I promise you’ll be just as excited to wear these next Summer, too.  Just…SIZE UP.  (I typically order a 4.)

ps.  Mike’s ridiculous shirt is by Bonobos…who is also having a sale.

A Few Favorites From Lolë

I had worked with Lolë on a collaboration back in March…and oh man, did I luck out.  The pieces they sent to me (for our Ecuador trip, here) I wore all summer.  And now a few of my very favs are on sale.

An Everyday Dress And Cropped Top For Layering

This easy black Lole dress was often the first thing I put on when racing out the door this summer.  It looks cute with sandals AND sneakers.  The black is completely sold out, but the bright red or soft gray are calling my name. I’m debating.

The merino wool cropped top (below right) didn’t get much play in 90 degrees…but it layers so freaking well over dresses that I’m going to use it to transition them into Fall.  It was a lifesaver in cool Cuenca, Ecuador. (ps.  It’s also available in black…which would be amazing over the soft gray dress.  Decision made.)

A Sustainable, Stay-Put Bikini

Made from recycled fishing nets, this bikini top fit in such a way that I never had to worry about it.  Jump off stuff, wrestle in the water, run down the beach – no nip slips, no adjusting needed.  The matching bottoms are just as good. They both come in a bunch of colors. (I’m wearing a size M in the top, S in the bottoms.)

A Cover-Up That Doubles As A Dress

Clingy in all the right places, and looks/feels like a sweater dress…but still somehow manages to be cool enough for summer.  Lole’s ribbed Phoenix dress in black is ever-so-slightly sheer but nude underwear solves that problem.  The pink, however, is totally and completely sheer.  Such a stunning piece – it was totally fun to wear, and worked in so many situations.

An Interesting T-Shirt (with UPF 50 Sun Protection)

This Lole tee is basically the most perfect hiking shirt ever (UPF protection, moisture-wicking and anti-microbial so it never stinks)…but cute enough to wear even when not outdoor adventuring.

This Chic Sweatshirt

The only “professional” photo I have is the one where for some – inexplicable – reason I decided to channel a vibe best described as Johnny-Cash-meets-Rainbow-Bright (ha!  Can you tell this shoot didn’t work out?)…but despite my face this sweatshirt is really good.  It’s surprisingly chic, and one I grab to throw on over my silky camis at night. (I wore it to Morgan’s Pier with cut-offs and heels last Tuesday…and did I take a pic?  No.  No I did not. SIGH.)

Frame’s Keyhole Silk Top

I told you guys to get this thing during the Anni Sale.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.  It can be slipped under a blazer for work, and is amazing on date night.  You can wear a normal bra.  Because it’s 100% silk, I’ve machine washed it, and hung to dry.  If you are still interested, Intermix has the dark navy on sale for $85 off.  (It’s gorgeous.)

This Floaty, Romantic Silk Romper

Admittedly, I bought this only because it’s was on sale, $90 down from $345.  I was all, “OOOOO….”.  But it turned out to be completely clutch.  It’s 100% silk – and YES, I’ve machine washed it and laid flat to dry – but it’s perfect for those days I WANT to wear pants, but it’s too hot.  It’s amazing how cool and comfortable 100% silk really is.  It’s so pretty and romantic, yet not too much for day.  It also balls up nicely in a suitcase, without wrinkling terribly.  This romper is from Intermix’s in-house collection and is still on crazy sale.  I’m wearing a size small.

This Hardworking Silk Set From Eileen Fisher

This has been my go-to for the office this summer. Whenever I want to look put together, even in the heat, I grab this set.  The pants are literally the most comfortable pants I own (they’re more like fancy joggers, actually), and this top is deceptively good. I’ve worn it with both sneakers and heels.  Now 25% off at Bloomies.
