Inspired by Linzi’s Winter Capsule Wardrobe post, I decided to do the same — especially since this winter I feel like I’m finally figuring out this whole capsule wardrobe concept. For the longest time, I placed the blame of my scattered wardrobe on an organization problem — and that’s probably part of the reason — to know me personally is to know that I’m DEEPLY unorganized. I’ve also realized it has so much to do with focusing on quantity over quality when I should be focusing on quality over quantity. Aaaand BOOM goes the dynamite — I finally unlocked the Capsule Wardrobe Code. Here are my 10 most worn items this winter (that just-so-happen to make an awesome capsule wardrobe):
1. Lace Cami
I could go on and on about my love of camis. They may seem a tad dressier than the average tee, but really they are SO versatile and easy to wear. I love the contrast between textures when I wear a lace cami with jeans and a suede moto. It hits that perfect ‘little sexy, laid-back, badass’ spot.

2. Western Booties
You’ve read about these booties several times in the last few months because that’s how much of an impact they’ve had on my wardrobe.

3. Suede Moto
A suede moto pretty much stays in my top ten most worn items all year long, and it’s been like that for years now. I pretty much have one in every color, but I’ve been loving this lighter beige suede moto so much lately. It’s an especially great color for Spring — the perfect jacket during transitional weather like Winter to Spring, and Summer to Fall.

4. High-Waisted, Light-Wash Jeans
I didn’t expect to fall in love with these jeans as much as I did. They have been, by far, the most-worn jeans in my closet from the moment I tried them on — and rarely took them off. I love the fit, the high waist, the vintage details — plus the denim fabric is sooo soft.

5. White Chunky Knit Sweater
You know you’ve found an outfit you love because it becomes your go-to choice of clothing AND you wear it on repeat, time and time again. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it — amirite? That’s exactly what happened with this white chunky knit sweater, my AGOLDE jeans and my western boots.

6. Long-sleeve Turtleneck Bodysuit
I’ll admit, I wasn’t always such a firm believer in bodysuits before I ever even tried one, but I bought this one and was immediately hooked. They work PERFECTLY with high-waist jeans that aren’t skinny leg and any outfit that requires showing off your waist.

7. A Long Cardigan
A long cardigan was an item I didn’t know I needed until I got it. I’ve been wanting to get a drape-y long cardigan for a while now, but couldn’t find one that really grabbed me, until this one. When I saw that it was on sale, and the PRICE — I bought it immediately and it was a welcome addition to my wardrobe. I love the way it looks on; I didn’t realize how well it lengthens the frame.

8. A Winter Puffer
A warm puffer is a definite necessity during a Michigan Winter. I have a puffer that I’ve been wearing for a million years — HOWEVER, it’s really time for an upgrade, and THIS is the one I’ll get. So many TME members have confirmed exactly why THE COAT, is the coat.

9. An Oversized Scarf
An oversized scarf is another one of those items in my wardrobe I wear on repeat every Winter. For me, it’s a necessity when it comes to surviving a Midwestern Winter. It provides a much-needed shield against the wind, the cold, and the snow, plus I love the way it looks.

10. Fur-Lined Boots
As the weather changed steadily from Fall into Winter, these boots were the very first purchase I made, and quickly became obsessed with them. They were worth every penny because they are well-made, work SO good in the snow, and add a flash of color and fun to my fairly colorless Winter wardrobe.
