Pretty Puzzles You Actually Want Sitting Out

We recently rediscovered puzzles at our house. What a perfect rainy day activity! And I totally zen-ed out finishing ours the other Saturday morning over coffee. It was a lovely entry-to-the-day activity that wasn’t on my phone (hooray!) It’s a fun way to do something entertaining that doesn’t require too much energy or concentration, so it’s great for encouraging conversation, too.

We’ve solidly moved into 300-piece range with Sienna recently. You all know I am the pickiest when it comes to design of…anything, so the thought of leaving ugly puzzles sitting out, well, it’s just not happening at my house. Our first foray back into puzzles here was a gorgeous Charley Harper farm illustration. I loved it so much I thought I’d share a roundup of my favorite, actually pretty puzzles you wouldn’t mind leaving on your dining room or coffee table.

Puzzles are a great family friendly activity when you & the kids (or hubs) just want to chill. We like them to be pretty, too. I know, right? See our favs.

If you have any gorgeous finds, as always, please share! I’m thinking of adding a few of these into our rotation. When I don’t feel like knitting but want something calming, when Sienna and I have a little time to just chill between activities or before dinner, when Pinky and I can’t agree on a TV show to watch together (always), this steps in as a rewarding, but chill activity. Win-win for the household and my eyes. Artwork for your dining table. Fabulous.

Meet Laura! She's a reader turned contributor and we couldn't be happier to have her as part of the team. Her fun, creative style is, as she says, "somewhere between Madewell and Joan Jett" (YES.) and she delivers some mean dressing room selfies so keep an eye out for those. Fun fact? She loves getting her hair cut and we love to see what she has up her sleeve.

  1. Great post! We love puzzles, I just ordered some you recommended. I also like the Springbok puzzles because they have large pieces for kids, medium sized pieces for older kids, and small pieces for adults. Perfect family style puzzles.

  2. Liberty Puzzles (https://www.libertypuzzles.com/) are totally expensive, absolutely beautiful and make wonderful housewarming gifts or thanks for letting us stay with you on vacation gifts. The shapes of the pieces are intricate and fun and they also make kids puzzles.
