  1. I no longer commute but I use that Everlane backpack (in grey) as a diaper bag. It’s not for the “have to carry everything but the kitchen sink girl scout prepared” mom but it’s great for basics and my husband willingly carries it as is. And! they’ll tell you not to wash it but I got desperate last summer after a camping/road trip and it actually washed up in my washing machine GREAT!

  2. I’ve used my Matt and Natt for over a year and I mostly love it, especially the padded straps. My only complaints are that the zipper sticks and the pleather on the straps is starting to crack. My next backpack will be nylon or genuine leather so it will last longer.

    • CG- how heavy and/or bulky is that bag? It looks gorgeous- but wondering about the weight of it. As a public speaker, I lug everything around and usually have two bags. For me, the weight of the bag factors in…thanks for sharing this collection!

      • I have an discontinued style, Hobo, from kelly Moore. I like it but was heavy and the material wore quite quickly. I contacted the company and they sent a replacement bag, however the replacement had the same issue. She (Kelly) has since changed the look of her bags and has new styles, may end the quality has improved too? Not sure if I would buy another one.

    • I love my Lo & Sons Brookline bag. I agonized for a long long time about what would work for me – professional looking, but still capable of hauling a laptop, lunch, and all my necessities (I carry a lot with me). This bag has been my everyday for three years and still looks brand new! And so many pockets!

  3. I adore my Coach men’s Bleeker backpack. I use it for work, as a diaper bag, and it’s awesome for travel!

Shana, I’ve adored your blog (and you) for years! Thanks!

  4. I have the Baggu tote and love it. Just a warning, though–its size IS great to toss some grocery store items into, and it’s a great casual “around town” bag. It’s not very comfy, though; if I have any sort of weight in it, the straps really dig into my shoulder. I use it happily when I’m coated up for winter, but it’s not great with a tank top, though it looks most like summer.

  5. Everlane always! I’m on my second Everlane backpack (like the navy one you linked, in grey) and the style, capacity, and price can’t be beat!

  6. Hi there,

I’ve been on the hunt for a mushroom colored backpack for what seems like forever. I’d prefer a soft leather as well. Anything come to mind? I’ve been using a Marc Jacobs for a few years, and it’s looking a bit worn, and I’d love to replace. Love your blog!

  7. Filson bags are well-made and beautiful – and more pockets than you know what to do with! Mine is the 24 hour tin cloth 🙂

  8. Have you guys heard of Dagne Dover? My friend’s sister started the company and they are doing great. I love my tote from them, fits all my stuff perfectly and stays organized!

  9. I’m looking for something along these lines (feminine and functional) and really want a backpack that also includes a sleeve so it can slide over the handle of my roller suitcase. If anyone know of something, let me know! This is a great list to check out.

  10. It’s really awesome. I love it.very interesting and meaningful post. I got some very important views in your post which are very good and applicable for me. I just wish that I’ll see your another post very soon. I am waiting for that.
