There are few combos that get my heart beating fast like red and leopard print. I know. You’re used to seeing me in black and gray, but, surprisingly, I love this bright red for fall.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I would like it at first, but when I actually tried the bright red I was hooked. Then I thought of pairing it with these fun leopard boots and blammo…amazing fall combo that’s fun but easy. Throw in a pair of destroyed denim in a slim boyfriend fit and you have a really versatile outfit that’s on-trend for the season with pieces that could easily take you into the holidays.

You may have seen on Instagram (@elletrain) that I tried out this red and leopard combo with a lighter pair of jeans. I was happy to know it works well with either. The destroyed denim is my favorite, but you could easily make this less casual with clean/non-destructed denim.

I liked the lighter shoe with the lighter denim, but the bluer pair  was a bit more cropped. That’s the only thing I didn’t love about these boots is that they’re a little high on my ankle and tricky to wear with certain jeans. It now dawns on me that I could have tried cuffing the jeans a bit to get the right height, but I’m such a fan of the raw hem right now that I didn’t think of it at the time.

My Red and Leopard Print Outfit Details

Sweater -Loving the color of this sweater and the fact that it has a bit more stability and shape than a plain crewneck style, but I didn’t love how it made my shoulders look a bit wider. I think I’ll continue the search for more of a scoopneck or a v-neck or just a bit different style. Like this.

Jeans (similar) – My jeans are Madewell and sold out a while ago, sadly. (They do still have the same cut, but a darker wash and no distressing.) These Rag & Bone look like a similar fit. As do these from AG.

Boots – These boots are Billabong and are really great, but I wish they were slightly shorter in the rise for me. The faded print is so good though. They run TTS.

Moana necklace – Just in case you’re as completely obsessed as we are over here. Lin Manuel Miranda is pure genius.

Have you attempted the bright red yet? I asked Scotti what lip color I should’ve chosen to go with the bright red and she said definitely more of a nude. She loves Clinique Longlast Glosswear in Tenderheart for a great neutral that stays on well. I think I need to pick some up.
