Sporty Side Stripe Leggings Styled 2 Ways

I love trying to think of how to describe my style. It’s not run-of-the-mill and it doesn’t fit one category (that would be way too easy!) It’s not preppy OR rocker OR sporty OR grunge…it’s kind of a combo of all those things. If you put all that in a blender you get me. Voila.

Well, the sporty side of me LOVES the side stripe pants that are all the rage right now, but I just couldn’t rock the full-on track pants. I think it’s the wide legs…they just, I can’t. So, instead, I found a great ponte pant in a similar style that still has that same sporty vibe but is easier to wear.

We all know a sporty legging goes well with a tee and sneaks (don’t worry, I put that at the end of the post) but I love the challenge of dressing up these super sporty pieces to make them more interesting and more blended-up me. Ha. So, with a little help from my (TME) friends, that’s what I did here. Let’s check it.

Sporty Spice – White Blazer + Graphic Tee + Neutral Heels

In true Portland form, it was raining out this day we decided to take pics, so you get a little preview into my home office, where all the magic happens, y’all. And by magic I mean where the entire family likes to be when I’m attempting to make a phone call or write a post or ya know finish a single thought. You know, mamas, you know. It’s right off the kitchen and it has a comfy couch in it, so of course everyone wants to be in there. But, I digress.

This outfit. So fun! I love it for anything from a work event to a date night. These pants are in a ponte fabric instead of a workout legging, so they give a bit more dressy vibe while still being comfy. They’d be a great travel pant. On-trend, but not fussy or over the top. That’s me in a nutshell, I like to think. Ha.

Shana and Scotti both swear by these nude heels and I now know what they’re talking about. They’re super cute, walkable, and a perfect addition to the wardrobe. They dressed this look up just the right amount for me. I’m liking the white blazer here to keep the black pants springy. And that clutch. Don’t even get me started. Perfection in a purse. The colors. I die.

Outfit Details

Jacket (similar) – J.Crew White Linen Blazer – I never knew I’d wear a white blazer so much, but with a cool graphic tee it’s just fab at freshening up an outfit and looking just sporty enough.

Tee – The Future Is Female Graphic Tee – There have been many knock offs but this is the original shop that started the trend! I reach for this so often to add a little interest to an outfit where you might otherwise see a plain white tee. I highly recommend having a fav white graphic tee to grab when your outfit feels boring.

Pants – Topshop Side Stripe Ponte Leggings – These are great and a nice price. Fit TTS and I adore the red stripe, but they also come in black and white. They do soften a bit with wear, but they weren’t stretched out and didn’t bag at the knees after wearing all day. Wearing a Small.

Heels – Steve Madden Patti Heels – These are good. I should’ve picked them up long ago. The heel is a great lower height while still being flattering. I wound up going with a 7.5 wide though because they’re pretty narrow through the toe, even though I never typically wear a wide. This is a 1/2 size down from my typical 8, too, because those were too long. Hope that helps! They’re a great addition to your wardrobe, coming from someone who doesn’t wear a lot of heels, too.

Clutch – Rebecca Minkoff Leo Clutch – I don’t typically get this excited about purses, but OMG. The stripes. It’s beautifully soft and just stunning to add the right amount of color to any ensemble.

Earrings –Betsy & Iya Novi Hoop Earrings My favorites. They’re gorgeous without looking heavy on because I’m always minimal when it comes to jewelry.

Everyday Sporty – Gray Tee + Blush Sneaker

It stopped raining long enough for Camper and I to get out of the house for a sec. This is a pretty straight-forward leggings and tee outfit, but what I’m loving is the unexpected combo of the blush sneaks with the red stripes. Interesting color combos are my jam. I grab this high-low tee all the time for a great go-to. This is just a no fuss easy weekend outfit that honestly I’ll probably wear a ton.

Sneakers (similar) – The Greats Perforated Royale Low Top – Mine are Lacoste from last year and long gone, but Shana’s Greats are super similar in shape and color. I didn’t realize how much I’d love blush sneakers, but they’re just as versatile as a tan shoe, but more interesting…they go with seriously everything.

Usually I ask a question about the outfit to end the post because it’s fun and great to hear your answers! Today? I got nothing, y’all. It’s been that kind of week. Brain. Gone. Which was your favorite Spice Girl? Let’s go with that. Haha. Happy Weekend!!!

  2. I absolutely adore your blog posts! They’re so inspirational! I love what you do, and the things you post is exactly the kind of things I’m interested in.

  3. Menswear has ended up more and more unfastened in phrases of its boundaries and rigid systems in latest years. As soon as upon a time, you in no way would have an idea that there might be a hybrid among the powerful tracksuit trouser and the suit trouser. Fashion is outwardly unpredictable to a quantity, and there you’ve got it, we have formal trousers with side stripes.

  4. The devil is in the details!!! It’s amazing what a cool necklace and jacket can do for any outfit! Two pieces can pull the whole outfit together. My jacket of choice is a simple blazer that fits like a glove.

  5. Thanks for the post. Comfy and office appropriate, I’m in. Ordered the tall through the Topshop site. ? I’ll let you know how it works out.

  6. I am DYING over the Tory Sport multicolor side stripe leggings! I’m not sure I can splurge that much right now but I LOVE them.

  7. That clutch is perfection. I’m so ready to pull the trigger on it but then I remember how impractical I find clutches to be and I hesitate.

    • I know. I always thought the same. From now on I will ONLY get amazing clutches that really make an outfit WOW! And sometimes I slip them down into a bigger bag if I’m traveling or for daytime.

  8. That clutch. I need it. I also need it to be big enough to hold my giant wallet, a hairbrush, a few pacis, and some hot-wheels cars.

  9. Adore this outfit styled with the heels and graphic tee! Please more edgy / professional outfits like this, I just got the leggings and did a similar look and got so many compliments. More please!!
