Killer Uniform: Jeans + Graphic Sweatshirt + Snake Boots

Snake print, denim and rock ‘n’ roll, baby. Sometimes you just need to add something rocker-inspired into your wardrobe to spice things up. That’s exactly what my new favorite trend of the moment is all about: graphic sweatshirts. It’s the best of both worlds really — our beloved retro band tees meet comfy sweatshirts.

There’s no doubt everybody here at TME loves their graphic sweatshirts. They’re so versatile, there are sooo many different styles, and they look great with everything from midi skirts, to leather pants, to distressed Levi’s (my fav right now) and snake print booties.

Outfit Details

Sweatshirt AC/DC Tour Pullover by Free People, size M, TTS (meant to be oversized). This is hands down my FAVORITE graphic sweatshirt ever. I love LOVE the fit — it’s a more relaxed silhouette than the average sweatshirt. It’s got a wide neckline and an unfinished hemline, so it has a draped fit, which I think gives it more versatility. You can do a french tuck, tuck it all the way in or layer it.

Jeans501® Ripped High Waist Straight Leg Jeans, size 28, TTS. My latest Levi’s and by far the most comfortable of their non-stretch denim jeans! They are super-flattering and fit so well. But if you’re not a fan of the non-stretch denim, MOTHER Superior The Tomcat Ankle Fray Jeans have a nice amount of stretch in them, and Lovers + Friends Nolan Jeans make a super-similar pair that I also have, but they run LARGE, so order one size down. Also, AFRM’s Dylan Ripped High Waist Crop Jeans are less than $80 at Nordstrom, but reviews have them running small, so order one size up.

BootiesLINEA PAOLO Sienna Chelsea Boot, 8, runs small; order one size up. I love these booties, they are so comfortable and easy to move around in. I’m a big fan of pointy toe boots at the moment. I love the elastic gore inset that makes them so comfy.

  1. Am I the only one who doesn’t want to dress like a teenager? Messy bun, fake concert tee, jeans with huge cutouts? No thanks. If I had to pinpoint my objection, I guess it’s the jeans. Both the ‘shop’ pic (Levi’s) and the ‘editor’s pic’ to the right show more subtle rips, which read as more adult to me.

  2. I love this outfit! The reason the jeans look different in real life- once you wear them a few times/bend your knees at all, the distressed knees often blow out. To avoid this happening you can use iron-on patches on either side of the holes to reinforce ? 5 mins to preserve $100 jeans works for me

  3. I love love this! I don’t feel like it’s a “teenager” look at all! If anything this post made me happy and I was like yup…. total cool chic mom comfort outfit right there. If anything a teenager would have missed the mark and prob would have skipped the subtle front tuck and the addition of snakeskin.
