I had my eye on this casual drawstring tank dress for a long time before I actually bought it. It looked like the perfect everyday dress: one that could work just as easily for running errands or playground with the kids as it would for dinner, lunch with the in-laws or drinks with the girls or — OK, you get the idea.

So what was holding me back? The 2-star review rating. Granted, it was from only ONE review, but I find myself pretty heavily swayed by those little stars.

I finally decided I just needed to try the dress for myself. So I sized up (per the review) and ordered a large, (I’m typically a medium/6-8), crossed my fingers, and waited for it to be delivered.

The n:philanthropy tank dress is perfect. It's not too tight or clingy; it defines my waist & shows off my shape w/out highlighting my belly. The drawstring is actually functional & I can dress it up or down.

Cute, Casual & Flattering: The Summer Dress I’m Calling My New Go-To

When I tried the on the “It Was All A Dream” tank dress, it was perfect. I loved it immediately. It wasn’t too tight or clingy and it defined my waist and showed off my shape without highlighting my belly. The drawstring is actually functional so it can be loosened or tightened for the perfect fit, and I like how that detail kind of dresses it down a bit. (And it’s always easy to dress it up with different shoes/makeup/jewelry, etc.,)

The ruching on the sides of this summer tank dress helps to smooth everything out on bottom & I love that it's not just in the front.

The ruching on the sides helps to smooth everything out on bottom and I love that it’s not just in the front. I always like ruching across my butt to help conceal cellulite. For example, this is one of my absolute favorite dresses because of the ruching in the front, but the back is just straight fabric that doesn’t really smooth anything. That’s why I have that dress in black even though I love the green basil color (but maybe I need to just get over myself and try the green…I’ll report back). 😂

One of my FAVORITE things about this black n:philanthropy tank dress is that it can be worn with a regular bra underneath.

The back has a cute keyhole opening (check out the pics of the model to see it; I can’t believe I didn’t take pictures) and one of my FAVORITE things about this dress is that it can be worn with a regular bra underneath. (I love my spaghetti straps, but I’ve yet to find a comfortable-enough-to-wear-all-day-long-but-still-supportive-straplessbra for D+ — these are the best options I’ve found!)

I also have to mention these flip-flops that I've been wearing for YEARS now. I love their versatility and minimalist look.

Don’t Sleep On These Flip-Flops

I also have to mention these flip-flops that I’ve been wearing for YEARS now. They’re super-easy to pack (they take up barely any room in a suitcase) and come in a ton of colors. I love their versatility and minimalist look. The best part is the price — UNDER $20 (and they’re often on sale for under $15). I love them so much I have them in black, tan, rose gold and silver…and I’m eyeing up that cinnamon color. 😍

XOXO,

Scotti
