I don’t know about you, but I could definitely use a little dopamine dressing right now. I’ve noticed myself subconsciously being drawn to MORE COLOR over the past couple of years (wonder why that could be? 😅). I used to be firmly into neutrals, and while I still like my go-to basics that way, gosh. A colorful wardrobe is totally helping me feel better, in general.
Thankfully, Staud seems to get this. Because…they made this oversized striped sweater…just for me.
I know they did. It’s sporty and colorful — yet wearable — AND it has the collar moment I live for these days. This sweater is everything, and I can’t wait for it to cool down so I can live in it! I styled it up with a few other amazing finds from Saks. Let’s get into it…
Fall Dopamine Dressing? Start With This Amazing Oversized Sweater
I was in my closet yesterday, and it dawned on me how my color section has grown over the past few years (yes, I definitely organize my closet by color, friends). Granted, classic black still wins for the biggest section, but colorful prints and patterns are slowly catching up!
They make me not only happy to wear but also happy to see simply hanging in the wardrobe too! As a graphic designer who has always appreciated the nuances of color, I should have realized this earlier: Dopamine dressing is really a thing, and I am here for it.
Again, allow me to go on and on about this gorgeous, soft, fun Staud sweater I will be living in this fall. It was the outfit-making piece I knew I needed for this article, and it just seriously makes me so happy to put it on.
Granted, there are some bolder first steps into dopamine dressing I could have taken, but I’m also a gal who appreciates balance. This wearable ivory sweater with sporty colorful stripes is just the kinda thing that I’ll grab often.
I am digging the Staud pullover layered over a black mini dress, like this great rib-knit option from Vince. And I’ve had these gorgeous Schutz knee-high boots for over a year now. They’ve become my fall go-to for warming up some of my dresses up a and make even the most basic black dresses super-chic and kicked up a notch.
Sweater Details + Sizing Notes: Staud has made some of our team’s favorite pieces over the past few years, and this sweater is just the newest of the bunch. It’s beautifully oversized without being heavy or hard to wear — and, again, that collar. TTS for an oversized fit. I’m wearing a S. The fabric is 98% cotton and has 2% spandex for a bit of bounce-back. Love it.
The Vince Dress I Love Under The Sweater (Or On Its Own!) + A Beautiful Saddle Bag

Last but not least, a few deets on this Vince sweater dress. It is so incredibly comfy and has a lovely neckline to show off — when you’re not layering the fun sweater on top. The dress is made out of a high-quality, fairly thick ribbed fabric that lays really nicely.
Sizing Notes: I’m wearing a medium here because I’m right between sizes, but I think I could have gone with a small. I love how the sweater looks on top with the black sleeves peeking out, but the dress is a great piece on its own too and would be perfect for the office.
And this bag, friends. Let’s not forget this beautiful See by Chloe saddle bag that I just can’t get enough of right now. Look at those details! And this purse is a great size for holding all the essentials without being too tiny or too big.
It’s perfection…and incredibly made. I’ll carry this forever. I’m a sucker for a rich emerald green, especially for fall.
Additional Outfit Details
Staud Hampton Striped Oversized Sweater: Super-soft, so amazing. It’s the sporty-ish stripes and collar moment that I adore on this. It’s colorful and happy but also wearable and easy!
Vince Rib-Knit Mini Dress: Comfy, thick enough and so well-made. Wearing a medium here…runs TTS as I’m right between S and M these days. Love the neckline and love it for layering.
See by Chloe Hana Leather Saddle Bag: This bag is just so beautiful. I’ve been a longtime Chloe fan, and this See by Chloe line makes it a little more doable for me! The details on this are stunning as is the shade of green.
Schutz Analeah High-Heel Boots: These lovely knee boots are just the pair that makes me feel fancy and chic without being tricky to wear or style. I’ve even paired them with a black ribbed polo dress for a simple, casual look — but kicked up a notch. TTS and still a not-too-too-high heel height for me.
Charlotte Tillbury Happikiss Lip Color: My very favorite lip color right now! So hydrating and provides nice color. I love shade Passion Kiss, and that’s what I’m wearing here.
