Whether we call it “faux” or “vegan” leather, the leather look is on fire this fall. While faux-leather leggings have been around for years (Scotti even styled up her SPANX in a fresh way), this year, we have all the options: faux-leather trench coats, puffer jackets, cropped mini puffer vests, joggers and, of course, faux-leather pants.
I wouldn’t be surprised to come across a faux-leather bralette or two! And I’m not mad about it.
I love to mix textures in my outfits, and all of these faux-leather options are a fun (and comfortable) alternative to my denim-heavy everyday fall looks.
Faux Leather Is On Fire: 3 Fall Outfits For Brunch, Lounging + Date Night
Below, I’ve cooked up three outfits that I would (and do) wear to brunch with a girlfriend, running errands and lounging around, and on a sexy date night in the fall.
1. Avec Les Filles Faux-Leather Trench Coat: Brunch With A Girlfriend
Pam Grier calling! The structured shoulders on this incredibly cool, cognac-colored faux-leather trench coat by Avec Les Filles make me feel like a ‘70s celluloid vixen.
The neckline on the bodysuit keeps the otherwise covered-up look a little sexy, and the flare jeans make sure our outfit is just a little funky.
I can’t stop wearing these super-versatile Free People lug-sole loafers. They seem to match perfectly with so many of my go-to fall outfits and are really comfortable.

Button up the coat and cinch the waist for a little definition — and a lot of practical protection from wind and rain in this waterproof trench coat (yes, waterproof. Real leather cannot compete on this front!). This trench comes in a sleek brown and classic black at Anthropologie.
2. Abercrombie Vegan-Leather Joggers: Casual Errands + Lounging

I wear this combo all over the place. Oversized hoodies are such a comfort piece in my wardrobe, and I love how the Abercrombie Vegan-Leather Sunday Joggers dress up this casual outfit a little bit. Paired with the clean white sneaker look, I’d say we have a winner.
These faux-leather joggers are a little roomy but not too baggy and just as comfortable, if not more so, as some of my jeans. The waist does have a drawstring to ensure a snug but adjustable fit. The inside also has a soft lining, so even though the material looks as if it might not be the most forgiving, the joggers are both soft on the inside and warm.

The white sneakers I’m rocking above are my Nike Air Force 1s, which are a relatively recent addition to my shoe wardrobe. I initially picked them up because white sneakers have also been super-on-trend, and I wanted to see what the fuss is all about. I’m impressed. I feel like the clean look of the shoes really does elevate so many of my day-to-day outfits.
I will note that I’d never purchased real leather sneakers before, so I was surprised at how stiff these were on first wear. However, breaking in the sneakers didn’t take more than a couple of wears, and now they’re very comfortable.
I realize I’m late to the party on these shoes, but for what it’s worth, I love them and find them to be worth every penny.
3. Abercrombie Curve Love Vegan-Leather Pants: Sexy Fall Date-Night Outfit
These Abercrombie Curve Love Vegan-Leather ’90s Straight Pants are a phenomenon, my friends. They’ve gone viral on TikTok and for good reason: Abercrombie & Fitch — the brand that tortured many a curvy girl’s soul in the ‘90s — has started to do penance for its sins, and honestly, the Curve line is bomb.
It’s really hard to find faux-leather pants in a curve cut (meaning the waist-to-hip ratio is different than a regular, straight-size line). I actually don’t know of any other brands that offer a curve cut (if you do, please leave a comment below so I can try them for us!).
Due to the runaway success of these pants, Abercrombie now has a ton of different colors and styles to pick from. You cannot go wrong here. These are genuinely comfortable and really just put a fun twist on any fall or winter outfit.

This particular outfit with the black jean jacket from Free People layered over an Abercrombie bodysuit makes me feel like a walking tribute to Olivia Newton John at the end of “Grease” (again, not at all mad about it).
I picked up this Free People jacket during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and have been wearing the heck out of it. I love that I can mix it with blue denim on the bottom and rock a nontraditional Canadian tuxedo.
However, in this all-black outfit, I went for a variety of textures — the casual weight of the denim against the smooth ponte bodysuit on top of the shiny, faux leather of the pants. The moto boots (these are similar to mine!) are the final piece that kicks the outfit over the line into Instagram Baddie territory.
So, are you going to rock the faux-leather trend this season? Which pieces are you thinking of picking up? Drop us a comment below!

Anne
