There are a lot of special clothing pieces in my closet, but it’s no question that the words “Free People” can be found on the tags of the majority of them.

Free People has been my favorite store for years, which you probably would have guessed if you’ve seen any of my other posts around here! I just can never seem to find the same creativity in designs that fit exactly as I want anywhere else.

So when I was in desperate need of a new warm puffer this season, it was a no-brainer…which of course, led me to find a handful of beautiful pieces to add to my winter wardrobe.

If you were to ask me to get a bit more specific with what I love so much at Free People (in addition to this puffer), it’s the sweaters and jackets. They are high quality, comfortable, and always seem to have the exact shapes and cuts I’m looking for. Some of my favorite new pieces from their collection are perfect for refreshing your winter wardrobe: cute enough for holiday gatherings, yet cozy enough for winter naps (my favorite combo).

Simply Divine: A Duvet-Inspired Puffer Jacket

So when I was in desperate need of a new warm puffer coat this season, Free People was a no-brainer...which led me to find a handful of beautiful pieces to add to my winter wardrobe.

I love this puffer jacket precisely because it feels like a thick duvet wrapped around my body; it’s divine. The colors are unique, and while my eyes kept clicking over to the pink, I knew the sage was going to get all the extra miles in my wardrobe. Warm jackets are something we take very seriously here in Michigan. They need to be versatile — and large pockets are key (hello fistfuls of tissues from cold-weather runny noses).

I found the reviews to be spot-on for sizing: this baby runs big. I’m wearing a small (which I never do, normally a medium in puffers) so I do recommend sizing down!

Cardigans Too Good To Pass Up

The Swim Too Deep Cardi: Oversized With Effortless Drape

I find myself always reaching for a good oversized cardigan when I’m home for the holidays. It’s a cozy option that can still be cute in family photo ops, especially when the shape is unique and the color pops. This baby would be perfect with leggings (hi naptime), but I also love to throw it over a nice jeans + sweater look for extra warmth.

You could size down if you want it a bit more fitted, but I love my true size (medium) for the effortless drape. Plus, I can throw it over just about anything.

The sweater I love to pair that cardigan with is cashmere…light, a perfect cropped length, and a turtleneck that looks gorgeous peeking out from underneath everything. It’s a surprisingly fantastic layering piece. The long sleeves and collar are perfect for an outdoor base layer, and it shines all on its own as a timeless outfit-maker.

The Found My Friend Cardi: Cute & Subtly Boxy

So when I was in desperate need of a new warm puffer coat this season, Free People was a no-brainer...which led me to find a handful of beautiful pieces to add to my winter wardrobe.

If you’re looking for a cardi that’s not as large as the one above, this Found My Friend Cardi is perfect (and under $100). The extra long sleeve cuffs are so cute folded, but exceptional unfolded for staying cozy. I sized down to a small so I could wear it as a top all by itself. It has a soft, textured fabric and a subtle boxy fit that I love with jeans!

Speaking of jeans… These are a lowish mid-rise, which I love having as an alternative to all my high-rise jeans right now. The true size is snug but they do stretch out (consider sizing up if you don’t want to break them in).

Another favorite thing about Free People (there’s a lot…I could make a long list) is the color options. They always have a ton of gorgeous hues, which makes each item feel a bit more unique and catered to your personal style when shopping!
