Hey, guys! Small business Social Threads (run by two moms, Maureen and Sara) is doing something very exciting: It has partnered directly with Free People on a live shopping event. The cool part for us is that Social Threads now has a little Free People boutique, if you will, up on its website, full of many of our favorite pieces. Think: Free People’s Pippa Packable Puffer, those Way Home shorts that Amy loves, the Arden tee (with thumbholes), as well as some really great denim.

Even better? Take 20% off this collection until tomorrow (9/23) at 9PM EST. The code is STLOVESFP, and it’s valid on Free People orders of $200 or more.
Some of the pieces featured below are new, and some you’ve definitely seen us wearing before. Let’s get into it.
Free People Pippa Packable Puffer Jacket
Kat was the first one to turn us onto FP’s seriously cute and lightweight puffer. On the FP site, it comes in a million colors, but for this event, we’re talking about the black. Which, frankly, I was excited about. It has a swingy, playful shape, cool hem detail, and an ever-so-slightly contrasting zipper. Runs a bit big — the XS fits nicely over sweaters too.

Free People Kara Quilted Cardigan
cardigan (S) | jeans (27) | sneakers
The gorgeous print on FP’s little quilted jacket is what drew Laura in. “I love pairing beautifully textured, artistic items like this” she says, “with sporty pieces for something a little unexpected.”
This jacket is just boxy enough to comfortably layer, without being too oversized. While Laura is wearing her regular size, she recommends sizing up if you prefer a more oversized look or want to layer heavier sweaters underneath. The outside is a soft knit, and the inside is a nice woven cotton — the construction is really beautiful.
Free People Hazel Heart Thermal
thermal (XS) | jeans | sneakers
Scotti’s always been a sucker for a great off-the-shoulder look, and when that sexy silhouette is combined with cozy thermal…well. This is what Free People does best.
Free People Cutting Edge Cable Sweater
sweater (S) | Levi 501s (or similar FP here) | adidas
This cutie is 100% cotton and so freaking perfect for fall and winter. I love the shorter, boxier shape. It looks amazing with high-rise jeans without needing to be tucked. And this color is gorgeous.
Free People Isla Cable Tunic Sweater
sweater (S) | jeans (different wash) | sneakers
This tunic sweater is one of those pieces you throw on when you don’t feel like getting dressed — school pickup, running a quick errand, etc. Slouchy, cute and dead easy.
Free People Date Night Cardi
cardigan (XS) l cami l jeans (28) l boots
Julieta might have a complicated relationship with cardigans, but this Free People Date Night Cardi may have just won her over. Not only does it double as a dress, but Julieta let us know, “my issue with cardigans most times is that they are too oversized and straight-fitted but here those issues are solved.”
Julieta’s wearing a size XS (a size down from her typical size), so depending on your body type and preferences you might need a bandeau or cami under. It looks like a midi dress on her, but tall gals — it would looks just as beautiful shorter.
Free People Baby Cord Buttondown Shirt
top (M) | pants (29) | sandals
Amy can’t recommend this uber-soft cord button-down enough. “You know you love your outfit,” she says, “when you can’t stop taking selfies — eeek, yep, I said it.” She also noted that the top is really long (our girl is 5’9″), so this top would work great with leggings too. Amy’s wearing a size medium and noted that it has a slightly oversized fit.
Free People Pacifica Coated Straight-Leg Pants
top (M) | pants (29) | sandals
Same outfit as above (Amy calls it “some sort of magical fall outfit combination”), but let’s peek at the pants. Free People’s Pacifica Coated Pants are her favorite faux-leather, straight-leg pants she’s found (and she’s made it her unoffical mission to try every pair out there). Amy suggests sizing up one size (she’s wearing a 29, which is her usual size for all “We the Free” brand pants), and she loves where they hit on her.
Free People The Way Home Shorts
shorts | shoes | sweatshirt | tank
Cue the happy vibes. Amy first shared Free People’s The Way Home shorts back in spring and her main takeaway? So flattering.
They’ve got a built-in, full-coverage liner that is genius, and there’s a sleek little mesh pocket in the back for a key. Amy especially loves how the thick waistband holds in “every little bit of my midsection in the most glorious of ways… I mean, every bit.” No wardrobe malfunctions here.
Free People Meadow Mod Mini Dress
mini dress (XS) | boots
Linzi loves a patterned mini dress, and we can’t blame her. She says, “This dress is the perfect thing to throw on when you don’t know exactly what to wear to something — it hits the perfect spot between dressy and casual.”
If the cut is a bit too low for you, a bandeau bra works really nicely underneath. And for the tall girls: This dress will fit more like a mini. (Linzi’s wearing an XS and thinks it’s even a little short on her 5’2″ frame.) Heads-up, this dress IS 100% polyester (and would Linzi love for it to be 100% high-quality silk? Sure…but then it would be a gazillion dollars).
