I’ll confess, I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to little black dresses (especially during the warm months of summer). I just love how easy they are. They make an entire outfit with practically zero thought required.
And when it came time to pack for our three-month trip to North Carolina, I realized just how much I rely on them. I could only take one suitcase and in it was a number of little black dresses. I’ve been wearing them as swim cover-ups, on date nights, running errands, for school events….
A black dress can work for pretty much anything. And since LBDs are incredibly versatile, they’re the perfect thing to pack for just about any trip.

Elan V-Back Cover Up Maxi Dress – I’ve been wearing this dress for years now, even during my pregnancy! I love that it has pockets and the length adds a bit of sophistication to a typical cover up. It’s the perfect dress for vacation!
n:philanthropy Drawstring Tank Dress – This casual dress is a great option for anything from running errands to drinks with friends. The waistband is comfortable and the ruching is super-flattering. (Bonus: it can be worn with a regular bra!)
Z Supply Blakely Dress – I love the ruffle sleeves on this Z Supply T-shirt dress, and the side slits make it easy to move in. Made of cotton so it’s soft and breathable.
Open Edit Ruched Halter Midi Dress – Probably the most flattering bodycon dress I’ve ever tried. The fabric is soft and stretchy and more substantial, so it helps to smooth everything out.
L Space Santorini Dress – The skirt on this dress is everything! Check out the video to see how it twirls! The adjustable straps and back tie helps create the perfect fit.
