Ugh, Winter. You’re killing me. I’m usually pretty cool with you…until we all get sick 5x in a row. Yeh, BYE! I had been recovering from the flu, which lasted an entire two weeks and then…I was informed I have bronchitis. Yay! So. Fun. Winter is sooooo cool.
Ha. Spring, anyone?
Anyways, I find that when I start to get to the “kill winter” phase, I turn to clothes. I try to find a cool, new combination that perks me up a bit. My recent go-to has been a comfy plaid top, layered under my lightweight puffer jacket and finished off with a V important addition – the chunky moto boot.
It has been keeping me (somewhat) together this month, so woo! Awesome.
eh. Blah. Winter. *eye roll*
+ A Layer
I like playing with layers when I can and this time of year is perfect for it. The hooded sweatshirt fits perfectly under my puffer and adds some warmth. The tunic also looks really cute poking out a bit, too.
outfit details
coat: Abercrombie & Fitch Packable Puffer (wearing Small, TTS) – great lightweight jacket…I layer it over sweaters and sweatshirts all of the time. Amazon also has one that I really like (the collar!)…and it is also lightweight and packable. I find these jackets to be perfect for those chilly days where you don’t need a huge coat. I love it!
top: Free People Washed Away Pullover (wearing Size S, Lavender combo) – incredibly comfortable, great length…like that it’s almost a tunic style.
jeans: Levi’s 505 C Cropped Slim Straight Jeans (went up on size) – a favorite pair of jeans…and BTW, I cropped them further by simply hacking them right about the hem line. FYI: I am currently wearing their 721 High Rise Jean on repeat. LOVE THEM. (I went up one size in them, too)
boots: Steve Madden Boots (wearing size 10, half size up from normal) – I can’t find the exact pair I am wearing, but their Roster is very similar to my own…and it’s currently on sale for $60. From what I can see, it looks like the only difference is that there is a zipper beneath the buckles on the sides.
sweatshirt: American Eagle Essential Hoodie (TTS) – looks to be sold out in the color I am wearing, but fully stocked in the light grey. It’s soft and just baggy enough to wear over a top. I also really like their Classic Raw Edge Sweatshirt.
We don’t even really have real Winters down here, so I don’t even know how all of you up north are even coping. Here’s to you! Spring. is. coming.
Cheers,
Cams
