I’ve been waiting patiently…or not so patiently, actually…bugging Shana about the Voloshin x TME collaboration every other day or so. “Shana….I ordered these sandals to wear with the Voloshin pieces. When’s it getting here? Is it here yet? How about now? Is it here? When do we get the pieces? When’s it going online? And most importantly…when can I start wearing this fabulous dress???”
Well…the Voloshin x TME collection is finally here and it’s GOOD!
Lulu Maxi Dress: Sexy, Cute & Casual For Summer
I was fortunate to be in the mix during conversations between Amy and Shana brainstorming the overall concept, narrowing down the designs, selecting the colors, and debating the fabrics of this collaboration. I am now giddy to see the results (FINALLY in person!) of all their work and share dressing room selfies…complete with the comfort shoe sandals (of course) ordered specifically for this collection.
All the pieces from the collection are fabulous — so fabulous! — but it’s not too much of a surprise that my favorite is this cloud soft gauze maxi dress. I love it love it love it! This is the type of dress I live in during the summer, and I desperately want my whole wardrobe to be made of this magical cloud material.
The Black Lulu Maxi Dress (My Favorite!)
The only negative I found with the Lulu Maxi dress is the bra issue. You’re going to have to do no bra, be okay with your bra straps showing, wear a bandeau, or wear a strapless bra. I thought my strapless bra was totally hidden, but I was wrong…you can see it peeking through in a few of the photos where I loosened the straps and let the dress do the deep plunge thing. Other than that…I love it! I love it I love it I love it! Did I say this before? Have I said it enough? Want more details? Here are a few reasons why I love the Lulu so much…
A Few Notes On Sizing…
- I’m 5’2, 32 B bust, 130 lbs and wear an XS
- Shana sized up to a Small so the plunge would be deeper
- The other contributors will be also be sharing selfies soon, so you guys can get an idea of how these pieces look on different bodies and with different styling.
- An additional note* on size range at the bottom of the post.
1. Ridiculously Soft Cotton Gauze
As I said…I want to live in this fabric for-EVER!
Dress (XS) | Brass Earrings – Similar **Black-Owned Sustainable Pick** | Bag | Sandals
2. Easy Styling
Throw on some earrings and cute sandals….done. A cute bag or a headband if you’re feeling super motivated.

- Accessories: Headband – Similar **Black-Owned Business** | Floral Bag or Here | Straw Bag | White Leather Bag | Sunnies
3. Adjustable Straps (For A Not-So-Deep or Deep Plunge)
We can safely assume Shana will be wearing her dress plunging down to her belly button, and I will be wearing mine tightened all the way up to my neck. Okay…maybe I exaggerate a bit…I actually liked mine a little lower than I thought I would (look at me being all wild!), but I like the option of wearing it higher too.

4. Cute With a Bandeau or Swimsuit Underneath
I know this is going to turn into my wear for EVERYTHING dress…including swimsuit coverup. I also like it with a bandeau if I want a more conservative look with more coverage.

5. A Side Slit (But Not TOO High!)
Yep…Amy has done it again. Perfect!

6. Color Options!!
This coral is gorgeous!!! I will be wearing the black and the coral likely on an every other day rotation. I’m so happy, you guys…do I really need to wear anything else?

I’ve got selfies of the bow-shoulder top and one shoulder dress coming soon, but wanted to get this posted fast as it’s my favorite of the bunch. I have a feeling sizes of this one are going to go fast.
About Voloshin….
If you are newer here (and haven’t yet heard us declaring our love for all things Voloshin)…Voloshin was launched in 2017 by husband and wife team Amy and Leo Voloshin. Our collections feature feminine silhouettes made from Earth-friendly fibers that are machine washable—as effortless to maintain as they are to wear.

*Note on Size Range
As much as I personally love the Voloshin x TME Summer 2020 Collection, I would be remiss to not acknowledge that I am disappointed in the range of sizes. There was a miscommunication along the way, and the plus sizing that was planned was not produced. Our apologies to anyone who is excluded from these pieces due to sizing. TME will absolutely feature gorgeous options for you from other retailers this summer, and do our best to ensure more inclusive size options in future TME collaborations.

Happy to hear that more sizes are included in the future! Along with sizes, I’d love to see styles that also are practical and flattering for different body types! As a busty size 14 gal myself, I can’t do a strapless or no bra look (I’ve tried all the strapless- no dice!), so I’d love to see some summery tops and dresses that work with regular bras too! Often times simply “sizing up” something that looks great on a size 2 isn’t enough to make a style work for a size 14+!
Thanks so much for commenting, Mickey. I’ll absolutely pass along your suggestions. I was super happy to realize that the tie top actually can be worn with a regular bra! We will hopefully have some selfies of these pieces on ladies of different sizes soon…I was just the first one to basically snatch them out of Shana’s hands before she could say no. 🙂 Voloshin currently has some gorgeous wrap and tiered dresses as well on their site that work with regular bras. Check them out here: https://voloshin.us/?aff=4 Thanks again.
A way to stop the communication drops that create the absence of diversity? Purposely and purposefully include diversity on your inner circle design team. Good luck moving forward in the work. Cheering y’all on.
Absolutely, Kate. This is a great reminder for all aspects of our personal and professional lives. Thank you.
Beautiful dress! Could you share links to your strapless bra and bandeaus? Similarly sized here and always looking for a good option.
Sure! My fav strapless bra by far is the Spanx Up For Anything Bra. It stays in place, gives me a nice (but natural looking shape) and is comfortable. Sizing goes from 32A to 40DDD. The biggest selection of sizing is available on their site here: https://shopstyle.it/l/bjhkT. I wear a lot of different bandeaus. Although I got a little more bold in these photos, in real life there are MANY situations in which I wear bandeaus under all sorts of tops and dresses. I have one similar to this one that I like https://shopstyle.it/l/bjhjM, but I also wear some cheap ones from Amazon similar to these that come in a range of fun colors https://shopstyle.it/l/bjhlZ.
This seems like more of a midi dress? On both you and Shana is barely hits your ankles so on someone taller it seems like it would be mid-calf at least?
You’re likely correct here, Cs. The length on the larger sizes is a bit longer, but not by much. You can see the length measurements here. https://shop.themomedit.com/products/voloshin-tme-lulu-maxi-dress. I’m excited to see how it looks on Cam, but you’re right…it will likely end up being a midi on us non-shorties.
With the deep v and the adjustable straps, do you think this dress could be nursing-friendly? Thanks!
FOR SURE! I would have LOVED this dress when I was nursing. Total easy access!
Ditto Mickey! I’m a size 10 (M or L) 36D and after 30 years of uncomfortable strapless bras I’m done. Hard to find cute, cool, flattering summer dresses for those of us who are bigger busted, over 50, not a size 2 but still care about style. I am curious to know where Linzi got the bandeau and if it would be actually stay up on the bigger girls.
I’ve been very small chested for my whole life (other than a VERY quick stint of slightly bigger boobs during nursing), so I’m hoping someone else will chime in with an answer based on some experience. I have a bandeau similar to this one that I like https://shopstyle.it/l/bjhjM and it feels pretty supportive, but I also wear some cheap ones from Amazon similar to these that come in a range of fun colors https://shopstyle.it/l/bjhlZ. Not for sure, though, if either of these options would feel supportive enough. My mom is 38 bra size and wears coobies under dresses. She says they’re not super supportive, but they stay up well for her. https://shopcoobie.com/collections/sale/products/coobie-bandeau. Will let you know if I find/hear of any other good options. Thanks for commenting, JeansGirl. 🙂
I’ll check them out for sure. The dress looks fabulous on you. Thank you Linzi!!
Thank you, I’ll check out some of the other styles! I tried to snag a top at their sample sale but wasn’t quite fast enough! The price points are pretty high for me, but I love the idea of the gauze fabric, so maybe someday a splurge item for me!
The coral looks amazing on you Linzi!!
Yes, definitely agree that dress looks amazing on you in both colors!
