You guys know how I love my jumpsuits. I’ve included some kind of jumpsuit in FIVE posts in the last few years. Haha. But, coveralls…now there’s some new territory to explore. I’ve eyed (and tried) a few pairs of coveralls just recently, and I think I finally found the pair that takes the cake. Believe it or not…. They’re PINK. I die. OK, they’re a super-muted mauvey gray pink, but you guys….this is me talking…. Queen Of Black And Gray. I couldn’t resist these beauties for spring though, and to really give the Madewell coveralls a fair shot, I wore them all day long. For you. I did it for you. (OK, and for me.)
And, spoiler alert…they’re awesome.
Madewell Coveralls For Day
The tough part about coveralls is that they’re a lot of ONE color, all over you. I often talk about breaking up the lines of an outfit, but that’s tricky to do here. My solution? A graphic print tee does the trick! Unbutton the coveralls some to show it off — and voilà. This was a comfy way to wear them all day, too. (Less buttoning = good) I had to, of course, throw in some leopard print. Otherwise, what am I doing with my life?
I love this look. The coveralls were comfy to wear — only as fiddly as overalls in terms of restroom trips — and the only time they were constricting was when I bent over to tie my shoes. Just take a load off and sit down to put your shoes on, and you’re good. Why do I always make things so hard on myself?

Madewell Coverall Jumpsuit – Love this thing. It isn’t as stretchy as the red one I tried around Christmas, but the color is much more doable, in my opinion. It also comes in a lovely olive green if you want a more classic color. Wearing a Small. TTS, but size up if between sizes since it’s 100% cotton. It breaks in with wear, but doesn’t stretch too much or bag out. *It’s on sale right now with code SPEND2SAVE yay!
Alternative Star Print Tee – So soft. Slightly oversized. Love. Alternative uses sustainable practices in their production, too. Wearing a Small.
Golden Goose Sneakers – or these have a similar vibe, but are more reasonably priced. TTS
Rebecca Minkoff Bag – Mine is older, but this one is cute and on sale, or this vegan leather one is adorable!
Madewell Coveralls For Night
We all agreed we wanted to see these dressed up with heels, so I obliged. And I LOVE it. You definitely want to add lipstick and earrings. I didn’t go with anything sparkly or glittery because of the nature of the over-dyed fabric and the casual coveralls. I felt like glitzy just wouldn’t go here, but tortoise earrings and animal print heels — YES. A bigger clutch helps break up the coveralls a bit, maybe in a taupe or tan for spring…ooh or snake print — but this is what I grabbed and it’s fine. Taupe heels would also be great, especially with a snake clutch. Fun!

J.Crew Leopard Heels – Mine are old, but these are a good, similar flattering shape.
Emma Convertible Belt Bag – So cute and versatile. Converts to a leather shoulder strap or a chain, like i have here. OR a snake print clutch here!

There are quite a few coveralls out there, but I kept my choices to a minimum, only a select few I feel like are totally worth trying. Need stretch in your life? Try the denim Madewell pair below. Already warm where you are? That sleeveless pair from Express I LOVE. I’ll be searching for a sleeveless pair for summer as these make perfect coverups! Stay tuned.
Coveralls pros: fabulous, bold, statement-making, fun, on-trend. Coveralls cons: the pairs without stretch are a little constricting for some movements, not recommended if you’re doing a gallon-a-day water challenge or newly pregnant.
My overall coverall take-away (I had to go there) is that if you’re a jumpsuit fan already, you’re gonna love them. If you’re into an easy one-piece you can throw cool shoes on with and go, you’re gonna love them. If you want a statement piece to add to your closet that is like an outfit with a built-in jacket perfect for cool spring temps, you’re gonna love them. Want a pair for travel? I suggest a pair with stretch. Don’t like jumpsuits anyway? Maybe go a different route. But I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows about it.
‘Til next time friends!
