Well, hello Fall. Did I really just type that? Summers speed by faster and faster each year, and it gets harder and harder to watch them go. Labor Day only just ended, and we are throttling forward with All Things Autumn — just weeks away — steadily in our sight. Don’t worry though, we’re easing you in to fall fashion with maroon and goldenrod, two essentially autumn colors; they’re like fall’s powerhouse couple. And you don’t have to worry about them splitting up because they look just as good with other colors too.
The story of these maroon and goldenrod looks starts with a pair Everlane cords, the hero piece if you will. I instantly fell in love with the fit and the color (I also got them in Bone).
And apparently corduroy, is like, my new thing? I didn’t mean for that to happen, this love of All Things Corduroy, but here we are…in a world where I’ve bought THREE pair of corduroy pants, and a pair of corduroy shoes, in AUGUST!! Glorious, luscious, summer is literally passing away as I speak, and I’m pining over a corduroy jacket and talking fall fashion trends. I do this annually around this time of the year, but still I aways feel guilty, like I’m a traitor to Summer.
….After all we’ve been through? All those months of me begging and pleading for summer to come, and this is how I treat it in return??
But I can’t help it, as soon as I see the back-to-school supplies go up at Target, summer officially ends in my heart.
SIGH. Goodbye, Summer, goodbye. Sigh.
But also, CAN I PUT OUT MY PUMPKINS NOW?? JK. Kinda, not really.

Top – FRAME Fray Edge Satin Camisole, M, TTS. If you’re new here, hi — my name is Jess and I will find a way to wear a cami in every post, and I will never stop extolling it’s MANY virtues — (like it’s versatility and it’s wearability throughout all four seasons). I also love this more affordable and more casual burgundy cami from Madewell, because buttons.
Bottoms – Everlane The Corduroy Straight Leg Crop, 8, Runs Large. These ignited the Fall shopping flame in me — and also confirmed that I’m officially back on the corduroy bandwagon — and in a big way, (as my Fav Picks below will confirm). I’ve watched Laura rock this style so well that I also bought them in Bone from Everlane. It was my first time trying Everlane pants, and also my first time trying a wide-leg cropped silhouette since literally high school. The color was gorgeous in person, and I was super-impressed with the quality and comfortability (so comfy). They were a little too big (since I’m between sizes, I usually err on the side of caution and order a size up), so be sure to order down a size.
Booties – Sole Society Lanette Pointy Toe Bootie, 7.5, TTS. Picked these up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and have never looked back.

Booties – LOFT’s Block Heel Pumps in Plum, these are very similar to the ones I’m wearing above, but LOFT’s version has a slightly more rounded toe.
Jacket – Levi’s Ex-Boyfriend Denim Jacket, M, TTS. Tried and true for more than five years now.
