The Most Foolproof Way To Wear White Ankle Boots

If there’s ONE trend I’m suuuuper excited about this year, it’s the white ankle bootie. They’re fresh and unexpected, and can easily modernize your everyday outfits. But white boots can be tricky to style! One foolproof color combo (to ease into the look) is to pair your white booties with army green. Army green is muted enough to let the white stand out, but not so dark that the white is blinding. Try pairing your white boots with army green pants, tees, dresses, jackets – and don’t forget about camo. It’s got a mod-meets-tomboy vibe I can’t get enough of.

Outfit 1 – With A T-shirt Dress

I was surprised by how cute white boots look with skin tones – of all shades! Pair with an army green t-shirt dress (this one is from H&M and I LOVE it), and the look is comfy, chic, and unexpected.

I’m wearing an ancient camo tee here, but if I still had my buddy Jeff’s old army tees, I’d wear one of those. My point? This outfit combo requires virtually no thought, but because the olive green + white thing works so well….so does this dead-easy outfit.

Outfit 3 – With Army Pants

The only word of caution I’d offer is this: white boots + dark pants + light top is a tough one to pull off. The light (or worse, white) top and white shoes almost compete with each other, and the overall result is off.

Keeping the entire outfit somewhat monochrome is a much safer bet. This is where the army green (or camo) pants really shine – they go with just about any color dark top: black, gray, navy, brown, whatever. I actually think tan might work too (I’ll try that next time).
