Happy November!! I’m interrupting Cropped Flares week to talk travel. Specifically, my very favorite Fall/Winter travel uniform. This outfit is super comfortable, can be warm or cool depending on airport conditions (or the weather wherever you land), and is cute enough to be worn well past travel days.
In fact, when my mom was packing for her recent visit to Philly, I basically told her to pack this exact travel uniform: jeans, fashion sneakers, cute tops, a leather jacket. (Add a scarf, hat and mittens if it’s cold.)
Done.
Add a gorg travel bag and you’re set for a weekend getaway, or a quick trip home to visit family for Thanksgiving.

Below I’ve rounded up my favorites in every category of my vacation packing list – weekender bags, leather jackets, cute tops, jeans and sneakers.
For leather jackets, I like ones that are elegant-but-tough: super soft leather, a matte, non-shiny finish, and just enough detail to hint at badassery.
The term ‘cute tops’ is insanely broad. For this list, I tried to stick to tops that would be comfortable to wear for long periods of time, and while they don’t have to be dressy, they have to at least be interesting enough to stand on their own.
Wondering if you are still working on a video to show your method for hacking off jeans…would love to see it.
Love this post! Kind of a dumb question, but do you just wear your sneaks sockless? I’m always struggling with what sort of socks to wear with this kind of outfit, and I’m scared to go sockless.
You look great, as usual! I’m going to modify this for work travel, which I dread, but it will be nice to feel good about my outfit at least!
On another note – are you going to do a review of Glossier makeup? There was some talk of it in the comments of a post a while back. I’d love to know if you like it! I’ve never purchased makeup online, I’m a little gun-shy.
Kudos to you Shana for pulling that off on a plane! I would favor a cozy cardi, leggings and flats that I can take off easily. Sitting on a plane in ripped jeans would drive me nuts lol. Off the plane- yes I would LOVE that look!
The weekender bag is gorgeous. I have one (um, not quite that nice!) but stopped using it b/c it’s such a pain to carry around. Roller bags are not as chic, but seem so much easier to handle. How do you manage the bag?
My travel rule is slip-on shoes only, because of security lines. Also shoes need to be able to accommodate swollen feet on long plane flights. My sneaks don’t stay on my narrow heels if I tie them loose enough to slip on and off. Dansko clogs are my go-to, but not very fashionable. Any more stylish suggestions?
