Worth the Hype: Vuori Performance Apparel Is Dang Flattering (And Those Colors…)

Thank you to Vuori & ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post.

I think one of my favorite things about working with The Mom Edit team is the contagious enthusiasm that begins to build when several of us start to realize that a certain product or brand is Worth The Hype. And after months of hearing the gang rave about Vuori (not to mention handfuls of local friends who have made similar allegiances to the brand as of late), I was eager to get in on the secret.

Vuori Leggings & Sports Bra Sets Are Truly Worth The Hype

So when they sent over a few pieces made from Vuori’s  BreathInterlock™ Fabric earlier this month, my expectations were…high, to say the least.

Happily (and I don’t suppose I should be surprised here), the team was spot on. These fabrics are good, friends. Love at first touch good.

And even for someone who admittedly hasn’t donned fitted performance apparel in a few months (and has the waning confidence to match), these pieces felt flattering right out of the gate. No pinching or smooshing. Just ultra-smooth, buttery fabrics that skim curves without digging in and move as you move.

As the name of the line would suggest, they’re light and airy, too. What I would call the ideal weight for our coastal summer weather, where the ever-present fog gives the illusion of coolness, but you quickly break a sweat nonetheless. For times when I’m just shy of choosing shorts for an outdoor run, both the Rib Studio Legging or the Daily Legging would be perfect. (Of course, they also make a Rib Studio Short, too, if your summer is more traditional in climate.)

Cute, Strappy Sports Bras (That Actually Fit True To Size)

I am a sucker for a strappy sports bra. Maybe a bit of an unrealized bondage thing? Or more likely I just appreciate the fact that, when worn under a racerback tank or the like, the straps keep things interesting and even a bit sexy. Both of the bras I’m featuring here get mega points for style and function, with removable pads (that actually stay in place when you want them there), a medium thickness band that doesn’t squeeze, and comfortable, flat seams.

Best of all, they fit true to size — meaning, they’re snug enough not to ride up while being roomy enough to slip on and off without risking a dislocation of any sort. (We’ve all been there.) I’m a 36C and chose a Small according to the size chart (provided under “Find My Fit” on every product page).

While the Mindset Bra (above) is intended more for light support and the Yosemite Bra (below) is billed as more “adventure-ready,” I found both to offer adequate support (for my build, that is) for running, and they’d easily fit the bill for mat workouts or lounging.

Flattering Performance Leggings That Are Comfortable & *Gasp* Colorful

I’m typically all about super-dark, saturated hues for performance apparel (ok, black… I like boring black), but I’ve found that I’ll make an exception for not-too-sweet earth tones in dusty hues, and the Brick color I’m sporting in the Yosemite Bra and the Daily Legging here is that perfect summer-to-fall shade. Real talk, I’m also all about a color that flatters without screaming LOOK AT ME (you’ll never spy me running outdoors in a bubble gum pink sports bra), so the Brick tone here is undoubtedly a home run on that front.

These Daily Leggings in Brick are also chic enough that, when I’m not jogging the coast trail, they’ll get plenty of double-duty use as part of my morning drop-off uniform, too.

I love the waistband (I consider the drawstring to be more of a fashion accent — they’re high-waisted enough that they stay up just fine on their own) — and on my slightly long torso, this style truly hits at the narrowest part of my natural waist, which make the fit feel made for me.

The 7/8 fit and cuffed ankle details are flattering, too. And I know I mentioned the buttery texture, but they’re truly SO freaking soft and breathable, without feeling like they’ll snag or run. Just a well-designed piece of premium apparel that performs as advertised. Love that.

Cute, Comfy, No Roll-Down: Vuori Rib Studio Leggings

The Rib Studio Leggings offer just as much in the way of performance features, too — four way stretch; quick-drying, moisture-wicking fabric; and a hidden waist pocket — all with that same buttery feel. And the steely-blue Azure color feels so sophisticated, I think I even prefer it to my second comfort color, charcoal gray. (Baby steps, friends.)

Sometimes I find that leggings with a large panel at the top tend to fold over or roll down, but the ultra-flattering ribbed waist on these stayed exactly put throughout my workout and the stretching (and sitting/eating) that followed.

I wore these leggings to our Bubble Friends’ house the other day — we’re no longer technically bubbled, but that designation will always remain because, dammit, we’ve been through something together — and despite the fact that these are the simpler of the two leggings, she actually ogled the ribbed waistband with curiosity.

“Wait, that’s so cute. And it actually looks…comfortable,” she marveled.

“Yes and yes,” I replied. “And feel them.”

Pretty sure they ended up in her cart before we left for home.

Overall, I’m super-pleased with the fit and quality of everything I’ve tried from Vuori thus far. Vuori bills itself really clearly as premium performance apparel, and I so appreciate that the premium part is genuinely apparent. And anything that encourages me to get out for more workouts can only be a good thing (especially now that the kiddo is back in school — the time!).

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the colors are just dang pretty too — whether worn as matching sets (I clearly can’t resist) or mixed and matched. (Eyeing up the Smoked Plum next.)

Cute, supremely comfortable, thoughtful fit and craftsmanship.
I mean…as if the team ever would have steered me wrong.

Cheers, gang.
