Emily has been swooning over this gorgeous dress at Anthro, claiming it could be worn as a “house dress,” and now all we want to do is sweep about in something dramatic.
Or at least…something more dramatic than sweatpants.
That said, Anthro is offering 40% off select dresses (and yes, Em’s is included). So we perused the sale and picked our 10 favorite gorgeous-dresses-turned-housedress.
Call It Elevated Loungewear: 10 Anthropologie Dresses To Wear At Home
All of these dresses would be comfy enough to lounge in (they’re either loose or knit), but the real star here are the prints. It’s the happiest crop of prints we ever did see. Best of all? Most of these dresses come in standard, plus-size and even a few petites.
Annabella Midi Dress
Take me on a tropical getaway and only pack this dress. Please. Seriously, though. I love this dress — it’s exactly what I would take on vacation with me. But for now, I’ll take lounging outside in it, too. Either way, gorgeous print and colors.
Margarella Maxi Dress
I have so many things to say. Besides the pretty sunny colors, I LOVE the top of the dress — the way it’s fitted nicely then goes out…and I mean those ties on the straps are adorable. Available in plus-size or standard.
Lisanne Sweater Maxi Dress
I’m probably going to continue to say I love every single one of these, because it’s true. Anthro’s just giving us some unique styles and prints right now, and I’m here for it! It’s been a minute since I’ve seen a knit, striped dress… didn’t know my closet was needing it until now. Subtly sexy, yet comfy.
Echo Tiered Maxi Dress
Firstly, this dress has amazing reviews — consensus: even better on in person. Secondly, it has shiny gold flecks throughout it. If you look closely, you’ll see the cool stitching detail around the top, too. Such a gorgeous dress for perking up an average stay-at-home week.
Marcelina Midi Dress
I’m a BIG fan of dresses with long sleeves. The flowy sleeves make it cozy without the fear of being overheated. And those colors are just beautiful. The midi length makes it easy to sit in, too. Available in plus or standard sizes.
Jacaranda Tiered Maxi Dress
The dress Em had on her Mother’s Day wishlist. SO gorgeous. Because of the black, I’d say it’s one of those dresses that can be super-casual or dressed up. Available in regular or plus sizes.
Karoline Tiered Maxi Dress
Love the slightly-puffy quarter-length sleeves. If you look up close you can see this braided, colored rope detail that adds just a little more interest next to the muted pattern. This one reminds me a bit of Reformation dresses, it has that same girl-next-door vibe. These are the kinds of dresses that always look good, for basically any occasion. (Soooo…even at home.)
Chevron Slip Dress
Something about the skinny straps and the way it just hangs, it’s like the modern version of formalwear in the early 2000s (and I mean this in the best way.)
Farm Rio Riviera Eyelet Maxi Dress
S would wear this for salsa nights in the kitchen, and I’m not only inspired by that, but I 100% agree this is the sole purpose of this dress. Planning my salsa night as we speak. (She just bought it, too, so lookout for a post on that.)
Eudora Midi Dress
Another one S just bought (in the red color above.) Naturally, this dress in the plain black caught my eye. But I need to take a moment to appreciate this amazing color it comes in, too. LOVE.
Let us know which dresses are catching your eye in the sale!

That Jacaranda dress is stunning! I love wearing dresses, even around the house.
The me in my head swoops around the house in fabulous dresses. Instead of these, uh, sweatpants.;)
