Hey, hey, Friday! Let’s jump right in: Zappos is on fire lately. Time to scoop up our fave Sorel boots on sale. Shana and Laura both love the Sorel Brex Chelsea Boots — waterproof, walkable heel, great traction for winter weather, and they look good with jeans. They even come in a lace-up version and a heeled version, if that’s your fancy. These lightweight Sorel boots also make S’ top 5 list (they’re like sneakers, upgraded for winter).
Our Editors’ Top Sale Picks From Nordstrom, Vuori, Saks & More
Take an extra 40% off sale at Madewell with code REFRESH! Scotti’s utility jacket in olive green is a steal, Laura’s eyeing up this cozy long cardigan, and ooooh…this little sherpa bag (under $50 at checkout).

Hey, hey, Friday! I’ve been definitely doing a slow roll into 2023, idk about everyone else…a little working, a little working out, a little self-care (returning to somewhat regular massages has been life-changing) and a little bit of reflecting. I ordered the wrong Moleskine planner (meant to get this one), so I’m still kinda floating in that space between.
Mostly I’ve been spending my week laughing at memes about the speaker of the House voting. And omg. The best was one that suggested they try a rose ceremony. WTAF is going on…just gonna sip my coffee and browse some sales for a minute, then return to comic relief, which is usually my MO.
Two things are intriguing me right now. These Sorel Ona sneakers, for one. They look SO insanely comfy, and they’re on sale. And I like the look too. And secondly, this whole vibe (the pants in Rustic Beige + ivory sweater combo) at Athleta. I’m wondering if I’m tall enough to pull it off. What I’m living in this week though: this sweatshirt and matching pants and…this sweatshirt and matching pants. It’s all I can handle right now. Throw a cute maxi coat on top and voila. OOH, and this bag on sale! Need.

ONE: This semi-off-the-shoulder sweater I’m loving is only $40 right now at Nordstrom. It runs a little big, but stick with your regular size if you do want the off-shoulder option. It’s just something I really didn’t have in my wardrobe and it’s so fun! I love the boxy cut. I think that is what has kept me from getting too hot in it. I just pop a cami underneath. Jeans | Boots
TWO: There are still a few sizes of the beloved MOTHER Tomcat jeans in The Confession wash for $129 at Bloomingdale’s. I know. The lowest price I think I’ve ever seen them. I have to size up in MOTHER because of the waist, but others have mentioned they size down. I’m very straight through the waist and have a shorter torso. They’re truly just one of the best-looking jeans with taller boots in winter. Best wash.
We’re off to Sequim, Washington again this weekend to see the in-laws. Have a cozy one, friends. Xo -L

Shana just forced me convinced me to sign up the kids for skiing lessons. She took them skiing over break, and I have to admit the videos of them learning are pretty darn cute. I myself am not what you would call a “great skier,” but I’m willing to learn for the fashion. (Kidding — kind of.) Plus, it’ll be fun to go skiing as a family once we’ve all learned (myself included).
This is also about the time when I get sick of wearing nothing but my super-tall UGGS (ooh, these are on sale!) and my moon boots (omg, I’m obsessed with these rainbow ones, though!!). They’re both warm and great in snow, but…neither look great with wide-leg or slouchy jeans. I’m looking for a pair of lug-sole boots that can switch up my look a little bit. I’ve ordered these Vagabond Chelsea boots and these Marc Fisher platform boots (50% off!) and will report back!

ONE: This faux-leather skirt from J. Crew is 30% off with code SHOPNOW, along with a bunch of other pieces that I LOVE including the Villa Coat — I’m dying over that pink Sweet Dahlia color for spring! (The clearance section is an extra 50% off right now too — so good!) sweater (S) | skirt (6) | boots (also on sale)
TWO: This Madewell jacket is over $75 off ($60 down from $138!) in the olive green — which I actually like better than the orange I’m wearing in the photo! And I’m actually loving Madewell’s entire sale section right now, all an extra 40% off with code REFRESH. I can’t decide between this mockneck pullover ($52 down from $98), this cropped turtleneck ($50 down from $110), or this cable turtleneck ($60 down from $115).
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Hi, hi, and happy Friday! I don’t know about you all, but I’m so excited for 2023. I’ve got so much in the works with my personal brand this year, and I kicked off the new year with the release of my new podcast. The first episode went live this past Wednesday, and I’m happy to report that it has been so well received! If you’re looking for an interesting listen about why I’m not feeding into diet culture anymore, then this episode is for you! I have a feeling that 2023 is going to be my best year yet! XX – Kat

ONE: Abercrombie’s faux-leather pants have been some of my favorites for a few seasons. It recently sent me these absolutely gorgeous faux-leather cargo pants in a beautiful mushroom color, and I’m obsessed! They’re on sale and 100% so worth it!
TWO: I took Miles to Nordstrom a few days ago, and he fell in LOVE with this brand called JUNGLES. If you’re looking for the It brand for teen guys, then this is it. It has seriously cool hoodies and graphic tees, and this fleece jacket is beyond vibey!

Happy Jan., fam! The rain here has been nonstop, but it looks like the sun will actually be hanging out today, and I’m sooo happy about that. We’re headed to the beach in a few minutes because the waves are currently the biggest they’ve been since 2007! (We’re just gonna look at them, not surf them).
A few current winter faves: I’ve been wearing the heck outta this vest. It’s not waterproof, but it has held up marvelously while running errands in this rainy weather (it also garners multiple compliments every time I wear it out, so…). Also this long-sleeve top from Athelta is part wool, part nylon, which makes it WARM — but also stretchy and perfect for winter on-the-go. I’ve been finding myself reaching for it regularly (plus, my mahogany color is on sale!). And as for something irresistibly soft + cozy? This. Just trust me.

ONE: The fabulous teddy Birks are on sale in my eggshell color (also on sale in black and pink)! They have a structured, firm platform that makes them durable shoes rather than slippers, which I feel is very unique when it comes to teddy styles. I bought them in Michigan for an offseason house shoe, and now I’m finding them to be the perfect winter shoes in California! Wearing my true Birkenstock size.
TWO: Tall girls! These leggings are on sale in the “long” length, run! These are my fave from Vuori — buttery soft and a bit thicker than other pairs, which makes them ideal for winter lounging and workouts. TTS.

Well, hi, friends! Reporting on what promises to be the only dry day this week here in Northern California. If you’ve seen the news at all (and kudos to you if you have not — I’m desperately trying to turn a blind eye to it myself in 2023), we’re basically soaked through here in the Bay Area. Lana’s school released the kiddos early on Wednesday and canceled classes entirely yesterday; our beloved coast trail (the one I post my beach pans from almost daily on my IG) is closed until further notice because portions of the bluff are eroding right out from under it; and thousands of people are just getting their power back.
Starting tomorrow, another atmospheric river is headed our way yet again, so we’ll be hunkering down this weekend and attempting to stay dry without going too stir crazy. Believe it or not, I think the concept of movie night has even lost its luster around here…
Stay cozy and safe out there, pals! Happy weekend. Xo, Em

ONE: Amy and I both love the thicker fabric and super-buttery feel of these Clean Elevation leggings, and my exact colorway is on sale. The rise is high and a little contouring, and there’s a sneaky zip pocket too. The super-comfy tank is also on sale, and it’s got built-in support with removable pads.
TWO: Gap’s got this stellar assortment of graphic tees going on, and they’re all under $20 with codes FLASH and GAPDEAL. Whitney, Prince, TLC, AC/DC — they’re all there. And yep, Biggie. They’re in really cool, muted tones that feel perfectly vintage and easy to dress up or down. Loads of other good stuff on sale too, including the barrel jeans you’re sick of hearing me rave about and this cool duvet puffer coat that the team’s been loving.

I’m in the mountains of Colombia, and we woke up to a lot of fog. The incredible view we have is all covered, but the contrast of the tall palm trees against the white foggy sky is breathtaking. I never appreciated how stunning my homeland is until I left. We’ll be flying back to NY in four days, and I’ll sure miss these landscapes.
P.S. I’ve been wearing these shorts nonstop here — currently with a ruana because of the fog, but let’s get into some sales.

ONE: Vionic Lani Combat boot – I’ve tried the extra-chunky boots, but they don’t work for me. I prefer something more refined, and these boots are it. Also in olive but I’m obsessed with the white.
TWO: Outdoor Research Coldfront Down Jacket – Backcountry has some good pieces on sale, and the color and style of this down jacket caught my eye. Also in other colors but not on sale (I love the white).

Well, it’s been a BIG week in our household — we adopted a dog! And named him Gus. After losing our beloved dachshund of 16 years, Henri, there’s been a pretty big hole in my heart. We don’t have kids yet, so my dog was pretty much my life. After weeks of searching shelters and filling out applications, I managed to find Gus by accident on our last visit to the Kent County Animal Shelter, and the moment I saw him, I knew immediately.
So, after what can only be described as a “relentless campaign” to wear down Jon — or as he described it, “an immovable object (him) meets an unstoppable force” (me) — he relented, and we took him home the next day. I don’t know why I haven’t tried this technique with Jon before, ha.
See what I wore on adoption day to impress the shelter vet, including my favorite turtleneck oversized sweater from Topshop that’s currently 40% off and my most-worn shoes, the Palladium Revolt sneakers.
Look below for more of my favorite sale picks of the week, which includes basically everything on sale at Everlane right now.

ONE: All my current favorite pieces: the TME team’s honorary favorite wool beanie of all time, my oversized striped Topshop sweater (on sale for less than $50), my beloved Levi’s Wedgie high-waisted jeans and my Palladium Revolt Sneakers.
TWO: This is my mom’s favorite Everlane sweater — one of my faves too. She looks sooo cute in it and loves it so much. It’s currently 40% off. Get it before it sells out.
