Hey, hey, Friday! It feels like we’re in that part of summer, where all we can think about is escaping the heat and hitting the shore.

Scotti’s loved this one-piece swimsuit (up to 50% off at J.Crew) for years now. It’s so good, she has it in multiple colors. For the beach, for drinks by the pool…and you don’t have to overthink the cover-up — just throw on a pair of distressed shorts (under $75 at Good American), because we’re casual like that.

It’s Greenlea’s 9th birthday today! I can’t believe she’s NINE already. I’ve been watching her lately — listening to her converse with adults with such poise and confidence, literally growing up right before my eyes. I can’t imagine life has been very easy for her this past year with her parents going through a divorce, but she’s been so resilient and strong…and fun to hang out with. She’s such a cool little girl.

As for me, I just feel exhausted — completely drained. There have been so many distractions and things going on that have kept me busy, but this week it’s like I hit a wall. I normally try to work out four to five times a week, but all I’ve wanted to do the past few days is sleep. I’m working on taking the advice I would typically give to friends at this point…to rest, take care of themselves, prioritize their mental health. So, that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend. (And I can guarantee it’ll involve me wearing wearing this way too much — it’s SO cozy.)

Athleta’s extra 20% off sale is FIRE. I LOVE this tank (on sale for under $20) that can be tied on the side or worn open — ooh, and this silky ROMPER on sale for under $40 (down from $119!) AND this little slip dress for $23 (down from $99!). Yay, Athleta!

shoes | tee | jeans (28 TTS) | belt | sandals

ONE: The Sam Edelman platform sandals I LOVE (especially that denim color) are finally on sale…and for 40% off! They have amazing reviews too.

TWO: These cropped bootcut jeans from Good American are over $40 off right now, and they’ve been my go-tos this summer. Super-soft, stretchy, and I love the lighter wash and slight distressing. (The T-shirt is also on sale for $13 right now!) belt (on sale) | bag | sandals (on sale)

Heyyyy, Friday. It’s here! The freakin’ weekend…I’m about to have me some fun for sure. Book club (which has honestly become bevvies club with a side of books) tonight, block party tomorrow (my friend Andrea does it UP and hosts the best parties), and then packing Sunday and getting ready to head to Northwest Arkansas on Monday to see my fam. Cannot wait. There will be loads of cousin time for Sienna, and if you’ve never been to the Ozarks, well, they’re all you probably think they are and SO amazingly beautiful. I’ll be living in my mom’s pool the whole two weeks we’re there. I’m such a lightweight in the humidity now. Wish me luck.

The sales are lovely this weekend, friends, and I’m not just talking the Nordstrom sale (I’ll talk a little Nordstrom). Farm Rio has a bunch of stuff on sale right now that’s so fab. I’m loving this look so much. Damn, and I NEED this Lipglass in shade Spice in my life, stat. And at AE.com…perfect tees for $15

jacket (M) | top (M) | leggings (M)

ONE: I took in a few returns Wednesday and picked up this rad blazer/jacket from Halogen. Love. I totally missed it first time around, but Nordstrom has a great workwear section at my store with some awesome pieces. Fit is true to size, and I love wearing it hooked closed or open. SO good and a great option when you want a little more than a blazer but not a full coat.

TWO: I’m a sucker for a washed fabric vibe, and these Vuori leggings are so good. On sale for $56 down from $94, too! Beautiful with the coordinating top, which is also on sale! TTS. Wearing a M in both.

I’ve been taking a pottery class this summer, and it feels incredible to get back into art again. Art was one of my main areas of study in college, and pottery was my medium. I remember spending hours getting lost in my artwork, and returning back to physical art forms has sparked a new sense of creativity within me. My class will be coming to an end soon, and I’ve already signed up for a second summer session. It’s amazing how good it feels to just create things for myself.

OK, sales this week are pretty damn good! If you have kiddos that are headed back to school soon, then head over to adidas! It’s having a major summer sale, and you can save even more with code SAVINGS. Depending on how much you spend, Saks is offering up to 25% off of most items with code SAVE25SF, and I currently have this stunning bag in my cart. Sending you all good vibes for the weekend! XX

trench coat (2X) | dress

ONE: One of my favorite purchases from the Nordstrom sale is this stunning Barbour trench coat (also available in straight sizes). It’s sophisticated and sexy, and I can’t wait to style it this fall. P.S. I had to size down to a 2X from my normal 3X I typically wear in Barbour jackets.

TWO: I ordered this J.Crew dress after Anne featured it in her Italian packing-list post, and OMG it’s freaking amazing. The fit is absolute perfection, and the cutouts are oh-so sexy. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me and is on serious sale right now. P.S. If you’re not a fan of cut outs, then this is the dress for you!

Happy weekend from the Northwoods! My little gang has been blissfully tucked into my parents’ home this week in Michigan, and now we’re headed to northern Wisconsin for my cousin’s wedding festivities (can anyone guess which one of those Reformation dresses from my try-on I chose?! I’ll post the full look on my insta this weekend!).

But first: sales. And I’m actually quite impressed with what I’m seeing — from two of my favorite summer gems (see images below) to a whole bunch of designer items in a limited sale at Nordstrom. PLUS, there are still a few scores from the NSale that I’m shocked are available (like my favorite purchase of the whole dang sale). And while I’m happily hunting down summer items that are being thrown in every sale section (like this eyelet skirt in multiple colors & plus sizes! gorg!!), UHH, what do we think about Anthro giving us an extra early grab at all things pumpkin?! GULP.

jeans (28) | hoodie (M)

ONE: Shut the front door, the stretchiest + comfiest white jeans ARE ON SALE. You’ve seen me wear these/heard me sing their praises for months (like in this blog and even this YT vid). They run pretty true to size, with a very forgiving waistband and a gloriously stretchy material that hugs in all the right places — while being comfy and breezy on those hot summer days (these are a lot comfier/lighter/looser than the black pair that was in the NSale, IMO). P.S. White jeans aren’t just for summer — I wear mine with oversized sweaters in the winter, and the looser leg makes these PERFECT for wearing over chunky boots.

TWO: Another on-sale-shocker: I’m obsessed with this ultra-lightweight cotton hoodie. It’s beautifully made and perfect for staying covered up in hot weather (I actually have it packed with me on this trip!). The hoodie runs long and oversized, and the front has an extra-deep-V cut, which adds to the easy, breezy factor. Also, the embroidery is perfection. I want to half-tuck it in with a shorts + belt next, just like the model has on!

Mi mami and sister left this week, and with that, the stress of figuring out how to do it all — more like prioritizing and letting the rest fall on the sides — came back. This weekend is full of fun things for my soul, though. I’m having a girls day with my two closest friends at the farm on Saturday, literally working the land. And then we’re going to our first Pow Wow on Sunday. I’ve wanted to attend for years, and I can’t wait to learn more from the First Nations of the place I now call home.

Now sales-wise: I just ordered these Zella shorts because I really need more clothes I can wear when I go work at the farm. And this Gap midi skirt is calling my name.

button-up (XS) l dress (S)

ONE: Rails Textured Satin Button-up (XS) – This is the only shirt I kept from the NSale. It’s truly remarkable. The textured fabric, fit and color make it a forever piece. If you’re worried about the color, this brown flatters a lot of complexions, so try it and see. You can wear it at the office or dress it down with jeans and flats/sneakers.

TWO: Free People Lakeside Ruched Open-Back Dress (S) l Zappos l Bloomingdales (some sizes in black) – If you like bright colors, this coral pink is stunning. I love the slit, the back, the ruching. It’s so flattering. If you’re worried about the bra situation, this one just got here and seems perfect.

Happy weekend, gang! We’ve got a couple of quiet weeks here between trips, so we’ve been laying low. Lana lucked into having a friend the same age next door, and they’ve become quite the duo this summer, which is so fun to see (they’ve had dinner at each other’s houses three times this week, which just takes me back to my own childhood so much). We’ve carved out a weeklong vacay for August, but um, we haven’t selected a destination yet. If you’ve got recs, we’d love to make it a road trip to somewhere with water (a pool could count) and some off-roading either there or along the way. Great food would be a plus too!

Quick sales shoutouts: This dress has similar vibes to a G. Label by goop dress I just received an email about — but costs 85% less; I’d wear these if I needed weatherproof footwear for the office; and somehow this $55 striped sweater is still in stock (but I don’t see it staying that way for long).

jeans (25) | boots

ONE: I’m hesitant to recommend new Levi’s jeans (they went through a period where it felt like a lot of them were super-stretchy and very…juniors-y in vibe), but these Levi’s baggy jeans are an instant classic in soft, non-stretch cotton and feel like a vintage find. And right now, they’re $55 (!!) for back-to-school (or back-to-drop-off, as it may be) days. See more of them in this post. True to size.

TWO: These Sorel Brex Chelsea Boots are such a solid NSale buy, and still fully stocked. The sole is thick and rugged (they could legitimately handle snow and ice), but they’re not too overkill for climates where winter is a little less…wintry. Excellent quality, as with all Sorel products, and the brown color gives them almost a Western vibe, very cool. True to size.

I just got back from visiting my parents in Osprey, Florida. And it’s always a bit of a readjustment. I love my morning ritual of getting up super-early and walking a couple of miles on Nokomis beach, watching the sun rise and collecting shells and shark teeth — it’s such a peaceful way to start my day. Oh, well, back to my Michigan morning ritual: the treadmill and “Vanderpump Rules” reruns.

As for sales, a surprising number of my favorite finds from my NSale try-on article are still in stock including: my new favorite (and first ever) pair of clogs, by Veronica Beard, and this Ace Neoprene belt bag by Dagne Dover that’s super-soft and perfect for my daily walks.

dress (6) | boots | dress (6)

ONE: This stunning French Connection Whisper Double-Breasted Blazer Dress is my favorite dress find from the Nordstrom sale, and it’s (surprisingly) still fully stocked in all sizes. TTS. I feel like it would also look cute (and cheeky) with cutoff denim shorts or even wide-leg jeans. Or, obviously, as a dress.

TWO: Madewell’s Xiomara Floral Print Cotton Dress is another one of my favorite dress finds from the NSale, and it’s also fully stocked in sizes. I love everything about this dress, especially the super-sweet embroidered bodice and button snaps. TTS.

A summer weekend getaway is just what the doctor ordered. One of my favorite southwestern getaways is Santa Fe, where the breakfast burritos are on point, and the art scene is acclaimed. To beat the heat, I packed my favorite linen blazer from Madewell, which is now on sale for under $50, as well as the lime version of this simple cotton shirtdress and these cream cargo pants cut for curves.

shirt (2) | sweater (M)

ONE: This Good American button-up shirt offers a twist on a classic. The hem is straight across, and the hemline is just slightly cropped. If you have a smaller waist in comparison to bigger hips like I do, the slightly cropped length hits at just the right place. I think the straight-across cut on the hem is also just really clean and sharp looking.

TWO: I picked up this cozy AllSaints sweater during the NSale last week, and somehow, this sweater is still in stock and in a few colors. The gray color goes with all my black items for fall, and the frayed edges at the wrists and hem are unique.
