**Hey friends. A couple of posts coming out were shot and written before the widespread pandemic, so we’re just gonna roll them out for continued escapism content. Take a little break here and there…hopefully we can provide some much-needed distraction. xoxo**

Hey, Plaid Lovers. Missing your plaid from fall and want to bust it out for spring? Yes! I recently came upon some color inspiration that made my fall-feeling pants sing this time of year. (I’m not sure if pants should really sing, but it freshened them up, OK?)

Let’s just look at the outfit, because obviously I’m out of clever or even passable things to say right now. Just like, pin this for later as I obviously put this all together before our current situation. At least it gives us some fun, bright, sunny colors to look at right now.

Plaid Pants + Bright Solids = A Fresh Take For Spring Outfits

Loving all things British as I do, I check out the fun color combos at Boden from time to time and was totally inspired by their recent catalog. I’m digging pairing this fun orchid/pink with this orangey red….The whole thing goes so well with my plaid pants from last fall! It’s giving them new life and kinda giving me new life, too! The sun was out and I was in Palm Springs when we shot this, so honestly that was giving me the most life…but the outfit is totes fun, too.

I think you could repeat this with a variety of color pairings. Coral and mustard yellow, turquoise and deep pink…honestly the plaid tones mute the bright colors just enough that you could choose your favorite shirt and bright shoes, and it would most likely work! These are the plaid pants I had in my closet, but a black and white plaid would also work well. I’d perhaps stick with a cooler shade like a blue or green for the shirt, if you have black and white pants, to keep it harmonious.

If anyone is planning to ask about plaid pants…I am having the toughest time finding any that are well-stocked right now. This pair is cute and has some sizes, this black and white pair is on MAJOR (but also final) sale. These come in extended & regular sizes, and are a lovely shade of brown, but I’m not sure about the fit/drape. I’ll update the post if I find any more to recommend! Stay safe and healthy, y’all. Much love.
