Once upon a time, we titled it, A Totally Lit Hanukkah — most epic Hanukkah post title ever! And then came 2020: Pandemic Hanukkah, nope. Hanukkah in Quarantine, nope. Hanukkah O’ Hanukkkah — 2020, definitely not. Forgive us, we’re all struggling, but trying real hard here, and feeling, well, just Oy!
Yet we’re making the most of what we’ve got and spreading all the Joy to all the Oy. That should probably be a hashtag. You heard it here first — #joytotheoy
A Hanukkah Gift Guide For 2020
Some years, Hanukkah is more important in this house. For many reasons, this is one of them! Hanukkah is December 10th-18th this year. And I can’t wait to celebrate it with the kids! With friends, we sat Seder via Zoom last spring, and something tells me Hanukkah might look like that a few nights too!
And just YAAAASSSS for the holiday ending on a favorite lucky number — on the 18th, to me and Judaism, and in the year 2020 in general — we’ll take all the luck we can get here, with Oy, Joy and Love.
Love this simple marble and wood beauty! It’s clean and easy on the eyes, and lets the light be the focus. There’s beauty in that.
****update, because that one sold out, quickly…This is another that I also love for its modern simplicity, and it’s on sale! xo A
Anyone else on the most massive movie binge ever this year? Always looking for recommendations, this seems like a fun way to find them!
Yum. Do I need to say more than that? It’s a Hanukkah box of chocolate delight! Save me the dark chocolate sea salted caramel please?
How cute are these little pops of fun? They are soft and squishy and when you squeeze their belly, an LED lights them!
Travel might just be from sofa to sofa, but my kids all love having their own blankets, and these will be great for when we can actually go somewhere, anywhere again!
These are our “big” gift this year…they aren’t inexpensive…but…they are gorgeous, come in cotton and velvet and are weighted blankets that come in 3 different weights. They are legitimately calming, and we all need a little more of that right about now. More options on Bearaby here.
This is called My First Dreidel, but it doesn’t have to be your first! It’s marked with the instructions for each landing, and a great way to teach the kids to play. Also comes with a cute bag and wooden gelt.
What a fun way to gift neighbors and friends from a distance! Grab a case of wine, and put these labels on them and then drop on porches, stoops, and with front desks!
All of my kids are obsessed with these, and face masks in general! This is a fun easy set of 7 and a great gift for one of the nights!
Just another little fun, but also practical gift for the kids for one night this year. We’re all sitting at our desks working and schooling from home….these rollers are great for all those hand and wrist cramps we get from typing all day!
Remember that time I raided my friend Margo’s Amazon cart? These…these were her very favorite thing in there! And yes, I’m on three effective blanket suggestions, so clearly I’m craving a little warm and cozy cuddling right about now! Genuinely though, the kids are going to love these at their desks for school-from-home all winter, and selfishly, this way I can have all my blankets back. They are super-cozy, and 5-star reviewed by 15k+….so, yeah, they are a “thing” this year!
My friend KD got me a gorgeous glass terrarium do-it-yourself kit for my birthday, and the kids and I had a blast assembling it. It’s so nice to see a little pop of green here and there. These are a fun way to grow some succulents on our desks maybe? The kids will love these! And they are super-cute!
