Thank you to JCPenney & ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post.

Zack and I will be married ten years (TEN!😳) this August. I was thinking about this fact recently when I was putting together a party spread for a family gathering over the holidays. Looking at our plates and bowls and serving platters and such…they’re all at least ten years old. Most have chips or cracks or faded designs and other signs of general wear and tear, and I realized that the New Year would be a great time to do a little home refresh.

Charcuterie Boards & Serving Plates: JCPenney Makes Entertaining At Home Easy

I fell in love with a few key pieces from JCPenney (namely this marble tray and these dishes) that made it easy for even this design-challenged girl to build a look from there. And the best part? I got it all for under $300.

I was SO excited when everything was delivered, I had to have my mom over for a little afternoon “party.” (COVID is running rampant here so I won’t be having an actual party right now, but I’ll be ready for them when they are!) I bought some of our favorite apps: hummus and crackers, olives, meat and cheeses, (and even splurged on a little sushi that looked amazing on the dark plates) and arranged them all on my lovely new dishes and trays. I poured us a little wine and we enjoyed a little mother-daughter time after all the craziness of the holidays.

I love the ombre design on these crystal wine glasses (dishwasher safe!) — they also come with stems if that’s your preference — and the marble wine chiller is gorgeous. (Tip: put it in the fridge/freezer/snow before using to keep your wine nice and chilled.)

The black dishes are my favorite. They also come in ivory, gray and natural, but that black is so distinctive and I love the way they look with the gold accents. I bought the serving tray and serving bowl, and the pasta bowls work double as smaller serving bowls while the black plates make all food look so striking.

Like I said before, I absolutely LOVE this marble tray and it looks so pretty with the cheese knives…but they’re actually functional as well. They worked for hard and soft cheeses, and I liked that I didn’t have to put my fingers on the cheese blocks in order to cut them (helpful for when guests are there).

More Ideas For A Cozy Home Gathering

As I was updating my dishes, this hoodie caught my eye. It looks just like one I had been wanting but for much, much less. I’m obsessed with the puff sleeves and…it’s now 75% off (on sale for $12, you guys). I paired it with the Levi’s I’ve been wearing for months now (also on sale!) for an easy comfy look.

I couldn’t pass up the faux fur slippers, either…it’s a weakness of mine (especially at $10!). They’re awesome…soft and warm, and also come in white or black.

Finally, this throw is amazing. I LOVE my faux fur throws and this one is gorgeous…perfect for two people to cozy up together. The white is nice and bright (it also comes in grey or neutral) and I also love their ruched faux fur throw in blush (and there are matching pillows!). You seriously can’t beat the price for the quality of these blankets.
