I’m shaking as I type this. In a few hours, I’ll go overseas without my husband or kids. I’m packing, and leaving food ready in the freezer and clothes clean. Making lists and schedules and, and, and…ALL THE THINGS. I was just telling my husband how when he travels, (which is very often) he just tells me when he leaves and comes back, and that’s it. But when I leave… oh, well. They’ll be fine, right? RIGHT?
More things I had to prepare were, of course, some posts for The Mom Edit. Dressing room selfies specifically since I’ll be away for over a week, and I’ll come straight back to the Black Friday madness.
My first and almost only stop (because the mall closed) was Madewell. And well, it felt like I was in paradise.
Julieta’s Fall & Winter Favs At Madewell
1. The Cali Boot In Corduroy
The color was the first thing I noticed, followed by the corduroy, and then the crop boot cut (my favorite pant style right now).
Sizing: runs small if you have wider hips or bum. My regular size was a little too tight across my hips, and the next size gaps at the waist. I wish it came in curvy fit. BUT! I still brought them home. I just love them so much, and I might be able to solve it with a belt.

2. The Perfect Vintage Jeans
They’re perfect. Contrary to all my favorite 100% cotton jeans, these have just a tiny bit of stretch that makes a huge difference. Keep in mind that they will still break-in and stretch with wear, so if between sizes, sizing down is the best option.

3. The Curvy High-Rise Skinny Jeans
If there’s something I couldn’t be more grateful to the fashion industry for, it’s curvy jeans. They mold better to my body, don’t gap at the waist and don’t pull across my hips.
Sizing: They do run small and I had to size up, but other than that they’re perfect. Also remember a number in the tag in your clothes is nothing, so if you have to go up one or two sizes, who cares? I owe you a back pic. I thought I’d taken it, but no.

4. Two Cardigans
I’m not much of a long cardigan person. However, I do like these shorter versions worn as tops. My favorite is this color-block one, with the back in a different color than the front. Incredibly soft. I see myself wearing it with joggers at home, or with jeans and booties for an easy momiform.

B. Short Kent Ex-Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater
This one is a similar fit but in solid colors. Comes in black, gray, navy and oxblood.

5. More Beautiful Sweaters At Madewell
Madewell is always a must-stop for sweaters when the cold weather comes. And I got to try on some of them…
A. Evercrest Turtleneck Sweater In Coziest Yarn
Soft, warm, and I love the vertical stripes. More colors available, but this burnt orange stole my heart.

B. Brockton Bobble Sweater In Coziest Yarn
I have some solid-colored cashmere sweaters, and while I love the warmth and softness, I need some that are a tad bit more fun. This is perfect. Also in cream with black bobbles and a pretty lavender.

6. Fancy Pants
I don’t need one more pair of jeans, but I do need some fancier pants. These draped jacquard pants are really comfortable yet fancy. Pair with a pretty blouse or a sweater like I did. (This is the same cider sweater I wore above, but in cream). Add warm socks and heeled booties and you’re ready to go.

B. Velvet Tapered Pleat Pull-On Pants
These are not my favorite. I personally don’t like pleats in my pants. Love the color and velvet, but the fitis not my favorite. But that’s just me. They’re still nice pants.

7. A Satin Midi Skirt With Leopard Booties
I wore these booties with everything and couldn’t not wear them with a skirt, so here it goes. Easy outfit with a soft top (this one has balloon sleeves) and a leather jacket on top. Done.

8. A Colorful (Not Boring) Scarf
Is there anything better than a colorful, fun scarf to brighten those winter days?

What size leather madewell jack were you wearing?
Wearing XS! A little snug though and most reviews say to size up which would be perfect to layer a thicker sweater underneath.
The velvet pants are actually my favorite piece out of everything! I think they looks fabulous on you and now I might need a pair.
Thank you! They’re great pants for sure!
You should try the Madewell Insuluxe Jeans! They have cashmere in them and they’re incredible!
