A few weeks ago, Linzi and I headed over to Voloshin studios to try on their new fall line. In case you’re new here…Voloshin is a TME favorite. It’s designed in Philadelphia by Amy Voloshin and handmade in India (we’re talking small batch production, done by local artisans). They use organic fabrics whenever possible, and always strive to reduce their ecological footprint.
Now Voloshin does summer pieces really, really well. Their warm weather collection is the stuff of wanderlust and dreams, and I live in these pieces all summer long. But how does a brand that makes my Greek summer fantasies come true translate to fall?
Well. By swapping gauzy cotton for silk, and linen for soft, drapey corduroy…pretty darn well.
(Pssst…when you’re done with this one, head over to our Holiday Style Central for more outfit ideas and party inspo.)
Voloshin: Whimsical Holiday Outfit Vibes
1. The Unexpected (& Dramatic) Holiday Dress
Voloshin’s Willow Silk Peasant Dress (size XS)
This is my favorite dress in the collection. It’s made from 100% silk (and comes with a liner, which I immediately ditched). Because it’s designed by Amy, it’s also machine washable (delicate cycle, obvi). I’m obsessed with the holiday party possibilities of this dress — so unexpected and fresh, but still dramatic.
I’ve been playing around with how to style it for holidays and cold weather…so expect to see that article soon. In the meantime…sneakers, baby.
2. The Dress That’s Perfect For Thanksgiving
Voloshin Alicia Poet Dress (size XS)
Voloshin’s 100% silk poet dress might be my most-worn piece of the collection right now. It’s sneaky good, this dress. It’s completely, insanely comfortable — feels like I’m wearing a nightgown or something — but thanks to the silk and the construction…it’s just versatile.
I’ve worn it on date nights, I’ve worn it to the office, and Linzi even wore it on a recent trip to Mexico City. This is likely what I’ll be wearing on Thanksgiving.
3. Another Fun Thanksgiving Outfit Option: These Corduroy Dresses
If you missed our earlier article, Linzi and I both styled up these seriously flirty, playful dresses for both day or holiday. You can see that article here.
Two Cute Tops For Work or Play
We love a good top. And there are two tops in Voloshin’s fall line that struck us as especially good. Either top could be worn for work…or weekend.
1. The One With Vintage Vibes
I love the delicate, vintage vibes of this dress paired with serious work trousers. This is exactly my kind of office outfit. For the weekend, I’d offset this top with some destroyed denim and high heels.
2. The Swingy Silk Top
Voloshin Hester Poet Blouse in 100% Silk (size XS)
This is the same silk as the dramatic dress I like so much, but scaled down into this cute little top. It looks cute with trousers, or tucked into high-rise jeans. We especially love the little details on the sleeve.
Amy, congratulations on another amazing collection. I swear you guys just keep getting better & better.
And readers, this is local, small-batch stuff. Which means…if you have any questions about the collection, I’m sure we can get the designer herself to weigh in. 🙂
More dramatic silk gorgeousness, coming soon. (I’ll throw a sneak peek up on IG – @themomedit.)
