I interrupt this Cropped Flares Week to share some new favorites with you!  (Don’t worry, none of us escaped the cropped flare assignment – mine’s coming later today!)

1. I fell in love with Free People’s tunics last year.  They’re the perfect maternity style: bump-friendly, postpartum-friendly, nursing-friendly.  They hide any post-dinner-food-baby you may have as well as any post-real-baby-bump.  I love the swingy hem and the fun patterns but especially how comfy they are.  I wear them year-round . . . in the summer with denim shorts and fun shoes and in the fall with anything from leggings to skinny jeans to flares.

2. Let’s talk about these jeans.  I kept hearing about how awesome J. Crew’s denim is and wanted to try them for myself.  Surprisingly, these were the perfect length for me (size 28P – I’m 5’4″) without having to hem them. They’re soft and comfortable but don’t stretch out and lose their shape.  (They’re also available in a darker wash and without distressing if you’re not into the holes.)  So J. Crew denim lived up to the hype for me . . . worth it!

  1. So, I love this outfit and bought the top. 🙂 But now I have a question about washing it. It says hand wash, but as a mom the washing machine on delicate and cold and hanging to dry is as close as I’m getting to that. Now the hem is fraying, and the little underlayer around the hem shrunk so that you can’t see it. I can just clip the frays, but I’m concerned about it eventually fraying too much or disintegrating. Did you have this problem when you washed it? Any tips?
