Bela, the insanely talented designer behind Philadelphia-based NINOBrand, is doing a special promotion just for Mom Edit readers: 50% off everything with code TME50.
You may not know this, but Bela is kiiiiiind of a big deal. I’m over the moon.
So. If you have committed to supporting more local designers & small-batch fashion…this is a seriously good opportunity to do that AND pick up something wildly unique and fabulous.(Code is good until Sunday, April 19th.)
Typically, a NINOBrand purchase is done in person (the clothes tend to sell themselves once they’ve been tried-on), so I was struggling to narrow things down, only having online photos as point of reference. Happily, Bela was able to pop a big box in the mail so I could do a round of mirror selfies.
Truthfully, I’m not sure it helped. Now I want EVERYTHING.
Sigh.
Keep reading at your own risk, folks.
The Thea Top…
NINOBrand’s Thea top is one of my very favorites. It can be tucked in or worn out, and is made from a sustainable Tencel/Cupro fabric. This fabric basically feels like a really thick, matte silk — it’s fabulously drapey. And I LOVE that the neckline can be zipped up or unzipped, depending on how much skin you’d like to show.
ps. it’s also available in silk camo, too.

…With These Pants
Here I’m wearing the Thea top zipped up, with NINOBrand Quebec Trousers. These trousers are made from vintage recycled polyester (from old suiting), and are a cross between suit pants and joggers (oh hey, elastic waist). I’m obsessed. Also, check out the BUM.

The Thea in Dress Form: The Z’ion
The Z’ion is the dress version of the Thea top, but in a thicker, dress-appropriate fabric. Like the top, you can mess with the zippers at the neckline, creating a dress that shows no shoulder, one shoulder, or a peek of both.
Additionally, the dress has a side zipper which means that you can decide how much leg to show. (And I like showing alllll the leg.)
It’s the kind of dress that works with heels, sandals, sneaks — everything.

This Perfect Summer Dress: The Millie
NINOBrand’s Millie dress solves SO many problems: One, it’s strapless, so no weird tan lines. Two, the ruffle hides any sort of skin-squeezing situations that typically plague me with strapless necklines. Three, it’s long enough that the backs of my thighs won’t stick to seats in hot weather and FOUR…it’s made from a cool 100% linen gauze (exterior) and 100% cotton (interior).
I think I need to hem it up 4 inches or so, but wanted to show the original length (I’m 5’3″).
This is another dress that looks cute with heels, flat sandals or sneakers.

The Coolest T-Shirt: The Kamala
NINOBrand’s Kamala tee fits and feels like a high-end t-shirt (think: thicker, stretchy jersey)…but a seriously elevated one. The peek-a-boo sleeves are detachable, but such a cool detail that I don’t think I ever would. And the back?? GORG.
It’s also available in a light gray.

A Fancy…Sweatshirt?
Well THIS is fun. NINOBrand’s Aviana top is sporty and sexy and — surprise! — can also be worn backwards. This top is available in both white (as pictured) or black.

Fancy Dresses Part 1: The One That *Could* Be Black Tie. Or Not.
We are going to ignore the fact that I should’ve steamed this dress. I am 100% completely opposed to steaming anything during quarantine. BUT!!! NINOBrand’s Dasha v.2 is so gorgeous and stunning and DRAMATIC that we are going to look past the wrinkles + my dirty mirror.
This dress is made from satin (yup — should’ve steamed) and is one of those that look sexier when it moves. Yet…because it’s not skintight (thank you Bela), it’s a joy to wear. There’s also one of those side-zippers to show a little leg if you choose. If you are someone who has functions to attend (I mean someday, once this is all over), this is the kind of could-be-black-tie-but-could-just-be-date-night dress that is stunning, flattering and comfortable. Highly recommend.
This dress also comes in a shorter version as well (in copper — wow).
Fancy Dresses Part 2: It’s FASHUN, Baby.
The other ‘fancy dress’ I’m drooling over is NINOBrand’s Prudence dress.
I think the name is ironic.
This…this…this confection of a dress features a sheer outer layer that manages to walk the line between frilly and cool. (I KNOW.) The inside layer is fitted (but comfy — like a fitted tee) and is grasping-your-pearls SHORT. The revealing inside layer is somehow toned down by the sheer outer layer BUT NOT REALLY. I have literally never seen anything like this dress in my life. Granted, there are slight Betsy Johnson vibes, but it boldly goes where Betsy never dared and I AM HERE FOR IT. One of my personal favorites.
ps. The pictures below were taken after I had walked around, causing the inner layer to creep up a bit (you know — all bodycon dresses do this). I wanted to see where the highest point of the creeping would hit. And…this is it. It’s dangerously high, but still, technically, covered.

But If You’re The Practical Sort….
The NINOBrand Liv dress that we covered years ago is such a fan-favorite that Bela still has it in stock. It converts from a maxi dress into a tunic and is SO good.

Lastly, don’t forget about NINOBrand’s jewelry. If you’re a longtime reader, I’m sure you’ve seen me wearing this collar necklace at some point — it’s basically one of the few pieces of jewelry I wear. I also have these earrings (a good mix of subtle and dramatic) and plan to pickup these unique hoops.
The code, TME50, is good until Sunday, April 19.
Well. This was a fun distraction. Stay safe, everyone.
xo,
